ANT MARCHES IN; LOUISVILLE MARCHES ON

CANTON, OH- “These guys have embraced the role of the underdog.” said Louisville Head Coach, Brian Warner on Thursday evening after his son, Anthony Warner shut down University School Preppers, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Louisville to a 3-0 victory, and a spot in the Division 2 Regional Finals.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Warner struck out ten, while Evan Shapiro sat down 11.  It was the ‘never say die’ attitude of the Leopards that made the difference in the game.

Louisville got things moving in the first inning, when Connor Adelman singled on a 3-2 count, scoring JT Popick, who stole his way into scoring position after a leadoff single.

Warner earned the win for the Leps. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out ten.

Shapiro took the loss for University School. The righty surrendered three runs on six hits over six innings, striking out 11.

Louisville saw the ball well today, racking up six hits in the game. JT Popick and Adelman each collected multiple hits for Louisville. Adelman and Popick each collected two hits to lead the team. The Leopards looked more like Cheetahs as they tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Popick and Adelman led the way yet again.

Riley Penn led the  Preppers with the only hit of the game.

Louisville will now be back to action on Friday night as they will play Chardon with a trip to Akron’s State Championship Series on the line.

YSN will have the coverage for free Friday at 5pm.

CONNOR ADELMAN; THE MAN WITH MANY TALENTS

LOUISVILLE OH-In The Louisville Leopards hallways, the last name Adelman carries some weight in athletics! As well as a whole lot of other things. For Louisville senior Conner Adelman, taking advantage of his experience in high school seems to be his mission. Whether you catch him on the baseball field, driving in runs against some of the fiercest competition the state has to offer. Or you catch him in the classroom, a little tired from cramming a test the night prior, but still grinding out a 4.0 GPA in his highschool career. When he’s not busy with either of those, you can hear his golden pipes perform on stage as Prince Charming. However, if you somehow missed the incredible journey of Conner Adelman to this point, there is still time!

You can catch him on the baseball diamond, as #5 Louisville hosts #19 Struthers in a sectional final matchup on Wednesday, May 18th. Or, you can make the trip to Mount Union to see him featured on The Raiders Football team this upcoming fall for Adelman. Either way, his journey has had a lot of memories made and a lot more to go. One thing is certain, Adelman is on his way to a “happy ever after.”
