CREEKSIDE JUMPS IN FRONT OF PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- Peospects came in to Sunday’s 16U Class B Playoff series with momentum after their round 1 win. Creekside was able to stem the tide however and outlast Prospects 3-1 to take 1-0 lead in the semifinal series.

Jack Davis was key in Creekside’s win going 1-2 with his teams only 2 RBI of the day.  Paul Connelly went 1-3 with a run scored.  Payton Zupko also collected a hit going 1-2 with a walk, and a run scored.  Devin Gruver went without being retired and collected a 1-1 day with 2 walks, and a run scored.

Nick Magnifico took the win on the bump lasting 7 innings and giving up just 1 run on 3 hits.  He struck out 5.

Jak Kenney went 1-3 for Prospects and scored their only run of the game.  Andrew Kirilla, and Carter Knupp both went 1-2 on the day.  Caleb Hadley worked a walk.

Kirilla was hit with the loss on the mound for Prospects. He went 5 innings and gave up 3 runs on 6 hits.  He struck out 3.

ATHLETIX WIN TWO IN A ROW TO KNOCK OUT CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- The Athletix thrived under pressure on Saturday needing to win a double header in order to advance in the 18U Class B Playoffs. Athletix win the first game against Creekside 6-3 and then won the UF necessary game  12-8 to win the series.

Ethan Shaw had himself a day in game 1 he went 2-3 with 3 RBI, and then going 1-2 in game 2 with a run scored.  Jason Triveri knocked in a run in game 1 going 1-2.  Triveri walked twice in game 2.

Malakai Roberts pitched a complete game in the first game of the day and grabbed the win. He gave up 1 earned run on 6 hits and struck out 9.  Seth Cervello took the win in the series clinching win throwing 3 innings and giving up 0 runs on 1 hit.  He struck out a pair.

Jimmy Sadler had a nice day going a combined 3-7 with a couple RBI. Alex Gabauer went 1-3 in the 2nd game of the day with 2 RBI.  Brady Hansen went 2-3 in that game with a run scored.

Alex Havener took the loss in the first game recording an inning pitched and giving up 5 earned runs on 3 hits.  He struck out 2.  Nick Magnifico took the loss in the second game giving up 2 earned runs on 1 hit.

CREEKSIDE STAYS FIT IN CLOSE WIN OVER ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- It was a very competitive evening on Friday night as Creekside and Athletix locked horns in 18U Class B Playoffs. Creekside’s win put them ahead 1-0 in the series.

Clayton Blucher swung the pine with authority for Creekside. He went 2-3 on the night with 2 RBI.  Eric Chorba went 1-3 with a RBI, and a run scored.  Alex Gabauer also had multiple hits going 2-3 with 2 runs scored.  Alex Duffalo went 2-3 as well.

Luke Savage pitched his way to a win on the mound. He went 5 innings and gave up 2 runs on 6 hits.  He struck out 6 hitters as well.

Ethan Shaw went 1-3 on the day for the Athletix knocking in a run.  Clay Mitchell went 1-2 and also collected a RBI.  Malakai Roberts collected multiple hits on the day going 2-3 with a run scored.

Joey Barr pitched the whole game, but still came away with the loss.  He went 6 innings and gave up 3 runs on 8 hits.  He struck out 6.

WHITING BLASTS OUT OF THE GATE TO BEAT CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- Whiting Roll-Offs set the tone early on Saturday against Creekside Fitness as they scored 7 runs in the first inning on their way to a 12-3 thumping.

Braeden De’Angelo had a very productive day at the plate for Whiting going 1-2 with 3 RBI.  Mitch Lang went 2-4 with 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Nate Thomas contributed to the offensive success going 1-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Nick Parrotto had a perfect day going 3-3 with 2 runs scored.

Joey Pugh earned himself a win on the hill for Whiting throwing 3 innings of work giving up 3 runs on 3 hits.

Danny Flynn continued his impressive summer going 1-3 on the day for Creekside with a RBI.  Nick Magnifico also contributed a RBI to Creekside’s cause.  Paul Connelly went 1-3 with a run scored.

Alex Nicholson took the loss on the day. He pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up 6 earned runs. Creekside pitchers combined for 4 strikeouts.

CREEKSIDE CRASHES THE PARTY AGAINST ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside needed every ounce of their offensive light on Wednesday night as they found themselves in a slugfest with Athletix. Creekside was able to come away with a 13-8 win.

Jack Davis was a problem on offense. He went 2-4 with 2 runs scored.  He knocked in 2 RBI.  Danny Flynn also had a strong night going 1-3 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and 2 RBI.  Payton Zupko went 1-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 walks, and a RBI.  Andrew Salupo was the most productive bat in the lineup going 2-4 with 3 RBI.

Jordan McCartney got the win for Creekside. He threw 3 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 1 hit. He struck out 1.

Luke Gehring went 2-3 for the Athletix with a walk and a run scored. Gabe Saunders went 1-3 with 2 runs scored, 1 walk, and 1 RBI.  Dustin Smith went 1-3 with 2 runs scored.

Gehring took the loss on the hill for the Athletix. He went 2 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits.  He struck out 1.

CREEKSIDE STRONG ARMS WHITING

STRUTHERS OH- Class B action resumed this week, and Creekside hit the ground running blowing out Whiting Roll-Offs 8-0.

Payton Zupko was very productive at the plate for Creekside going 1-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Alex Nicholson also knocked in a pair of RBI. Paul Connelly went 2-3 with 3 runs scored him and Jack Davis were  the only Creekside hitter to grab multiple hits, Davis went 2-5.

Nicholson got the win on the mound for Creekside going 5 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits. He struck out a pair.

Braden Zegler went 1-2 for the struggling Whiting offense. Nate Thomas went 1-3, and so did Grant Melder.  Braeden D’Angelo walked twice in 3 at bats.

Shawn Miller was pegged with the loss for Whiting. He went 2 innings giving up 5 runs on 4 hits. 3 of those runs were earned. Miller struck out 3.

CREEKSIDE STOMPS EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside was on a tear on Tuesday night and nothing Eagle Wear could do would stop them. Creekside blasted their way to a 13-2 win in 16U class B action.

Johnny Leedham swung the big lumber for Creekside on the night. He went 2-5 with 3 RBI. Dylan Barrett didn’t record a hit but did manage to grab 2 RBI.  Danny Flynn went 2-3 with 1 RBI.  Alex Nicholson went 1-1 with a run scored, a walk, and a RBI.

Creekside got a good night from their pitchers along with their offense.  Gabe Smith got the win throwing 2 innings and giving up 1 run on no hits. He struck out 4 and walked 2. The pitching staff for Creekside only gave up 2 hits combined.

Alex Zordich got one of those hits for Creekside going 1-3. He also picked up a RBI.  Evan Gilson went 1-1 at the plate as well.  Jakob Wallace walked twice, and so did Avery Maley.

Sam Castronova got hit with the loss for Eagle Wear. He went 3 innings giving up 3 runs and 3 hits. He struck out 3 and walked 4.

PROSPECTS PITCH THEIR WAY TO VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- The pitching in Monday nights 18U game between Prospects and Creekside was solid on both sides. The two teams combined for 3 runs on 9 hits. The Prospects came out on top 2-1.

Jeremy Kreuzwieser was a staple in the Prospects offense going 1-3 and driving in both RBI’s. Brandon Popio went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. Tino Multari went 1-2 with a walk.

Sully Brown pitched the gem on the bump for the Prospects. He went all 7 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits. He struck out 10 and walked only 1. Clayton Bucher went 2-2 on the day for Creekside with a walk and a run scored. Peyton Zupko went 1-2 with a RBI.

Gage Gillott took the loss for Creekside. He went 4.2 IP giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 8 and walked 4. 

CREEKSIDE CRANKS UP THE BATS ON EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH-

Saturday was a long day for Eaglewear falling to Creekside Fitness 10-2.

Eaglewear got things moving in the first inning. They scored one run when Nick Zaid singled.

Creekside pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Hunter Jones singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, Carter Owens singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, and Frank Senediak singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Aidan Radinsky led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Creekside. Radinsky surrendered two runs on four hits over two innings, striking out three and walking one.

Mason Nawrocki was on the pitcher’s mound for Eaglewear. The hurler lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and eight runs while striking out two. Ronnie Trimble threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Zaid, Dylan Smith, Gavin Loomis, and Tyler Canfield each collected one hit to lead Eaglewear.

Brady Philibin led Creekside with two hits in three at bats.

CREEKSIDE COMES OUT ON TOP IN PITCHER’S DUEL WITH AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Scoring was at a premium on Friday night in 16U Class B action between Creekside and Avalanche. Creekside got the clutch scoring and managed to win 2-1.

Payton Zupko went 1-3 for Creekside. He scored a run and tacked on a RBI. Kaden Anthony went 1-4 with a RBI as well. Jack Davis got Creekside’s third hit of the day going 1-4.

Alex Nicholson went the distance on the rubber for Creekside. He pitched all 8 innings and only gave up 1 hit. He didn’t give up any free passes, or earned runs, and he struck out 6.

Julian Trott got Avalanche’s only hit of the day. He went 1-3. Avalanche’s only run was scored by Peyton Koss.

Richie Preston went toe to toe with Creekside pitching well on the mound. He threw 6 innings and gave up 1 ER on 2 H. He struck out 9 and walked 3.
