A DAUB WELL DONE!

As she enters her final stretch as a Crestview Rebel, MacKenzie Daub has certainly made the best of her time on campus.  An outstanding student-athlete both inside and outside the lines, Kenz is taking her talents to the next level at West Liberty.  The Hilltoppers don’t only gain a top-notch volleyball player, but an individual whose sights are set firmly on accomplishing her career goals, and love for animals.

We caught up with Kenz after a tough loss to Newton Falls, but like a pro, she was able to knock the interview out of the park.

Over the past four years, there’s only one thing left to say to MacKenzie and her family.  Congratulations on: A DAUB WELL DONE!

B.E. AGGRESSIVE

When you grow up in a sport together, it’s easy for your teammates to become like family.  In the case of Crestview’s Trinity Boston and Haley Eskra, the road has been a winding one, but worthwhile.

As Boston, a senior- completes her final chapter at CHS; she will begin her focus on pre-med at The Ohio State University.  As for her “sister” in Rebel Junior, Haley Eskra; it’s just trying to get healthy after a wicked freak accident, and back to her winning ways.  Wherever these two paths may lead, they’ll always recognize that the bond they built through the game of softball has led them ultimately to a premium opportunity to be the best they can be.

The biggest trait they share is their competitiveness, and aggressiveness for getting what they want and deserve.

This week’s Crestview Player Profile features Trinity Boston and Haley Eskra: B.E. Aggressive

CRESTVIEW COACH’S CORNER (EP 2) WITH GREG ESKRA

Every opponent is a challenge, but when that opponent has a banner hanging with the words “State Champions” boldly blazed across it, there are a few more butterflies.

Coach Eskra, and his troops had to figure that out last week.  As well as some new obstacles with the injury bug, and trying to stay on the field with the weather issues in Ohio.

We grabbed a bucket and some seeds and sat down with the Rebel Skipper to discuss several topics.  Including the importance of travel softball for the development of young softball players.

HAVING A BALL

When it comes to Crestview Baseball Right Fielder, Dylan Ball, the determination for what he’s worked so hard for is second to none.

If you ask Ball, his time to shine was inevitable, and just a matter of time.  In talking to some of his teammates, he made one of the most memorable catches in Crestview history on a shot down the right-field line in the 2017 playoffs in Columbiana.  A feat that he feels proud of, but knows he has more to prove.

We caught up with Dylan after practice and wanted to get to know what makes him tick.  What we found was, not only is he having fun, he’s having a ball.

CRESTVIEW COACH’S CORNER (EP 2) WITH KORY WHITACRE

In a gifted week from Mother Nature, the Rebels were able to get outside and get some live action in.  On a day where Coach Whitacre was looking to evaluate his squad against last year’s state champs, we sat down with the Rebel Skipper and discussed what the focus is, and how they are taking advantage of the weather.

All that, and more in this week’s edition of Crestview Coach’s Corner with Kory Whitacre
