POTTERS SEAL THE DEAL TIGHT

East Liverpool, OH- The East Liverpool Potters dominated the Minerva Lions in a lopsided football match, ending with a commanding final score of 50-0. The first quarter set the tone for the Potters’ success, with Jaymin Haney’s 21-yard touchdown run providing an early lead. Despite a missed PAT attempt, the Potters gained a 6-0 advantage.

The Potters’ defense proved equally potent as Michael Hartey’s 16-yard fumble recovery translated into another touchdown, boosting the score to 13-0. Their offensive prowess was on full display when Dorian Burchett’s impressive 90-yard pass reception from quarterback Gavin Wright culminated in yet another touchdown just before the first quarter concluded, securing a commanding 20-0 lead.

The second quarter saw no slowdown in the Potters’ offensive onslaught. Gavin Wright’s accurate passing led to two more touchdowns, as Blake Adkins and D’Shawn Kirby each hauled in 34-yard and 10-yard pass receptions, respectively. Jaymin Haney returned to the spotlight with a 28-yard touchdown run, further extending the Potters’ lead to an insurmountable 34-0.

In the third quarter, the Potters continued their unrelenting march towards victory. Gavin Wright connected with Quinton Conrad for a 30-yard touchdown reception, increasing their lead to a staggering 47-0. Despite missing the PAT attempt, the Potters maintained their complete control over the game.

The final score of 50-0 in favor of the East Liverpool Potters highlighted their dominance on both sides of the ball. Their exceptional offensive plays, coupled with a formidable defense, ensured that the Minerva Lions were unable to mount any significant challenge throughout the game. This comprehensive victory serves as a testament to the Potters’ skill and strategy, leaving no doubt about their place as the superior team on the field. The Potters will host the Crestwood Red Devils at home in week 2.

EP SHINES ON SENIOR NIGHT, DOWN LIVERPOOL

NEW WATERFORD, OH- East Liverpool fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 14-5 loss to East Palestine on Tuesday. East Palestine scored on a home run by senior Brock Cheurco and a single by Cam Wischerman in the first inning.

East Palestine scored five runs in the fifth inning. Connor ElliottWischerman, Justin Hooley, Abel Figley, and Dan Bender each had RBIs in the big inning.

Hooley pitched East Palestine to victory. He went one and one-third innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out one. Sean Helpy and Dalton Vance entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

After East Liverpool scored one run in the top of the sixth, East Palestine answered with one of their own. The Potters scored when Kamren Klakos singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. East Palestine then answered when Hooley was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

Paxton Grimes took the loss for East Liverpool. He surrendered eight runs on 11 hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking zero.

East Liverpool scattered 14 hits in the game. KlakosDevin ToothmanLogan BennettCory Weyand, and Dylan Czech each managed multiple hits for the Potters. CzechWeyandBennettToothman, and Klakos each collected two hits to lead the team.

East Palestine had 19 hits in the game. CheurcoCooper VanceWischermanElliott, Dalton Vance, and Abel Figley all had multiple hits for East Palestine. Cheurco went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead East Palestine in hits. East Palestine didn’t commit a single error in the field. Connor Elliott had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

EAST LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH JOSH LUDWIG (EP 3)

Another huge week for the Potters as they battled with State power, Salem, only to come up just short.  Alas, time marches on, as do the Potters!

They set up now for a The Rivalry with Beaver Local in one of the greatest rivalries in the state of Ohio.  The Potters look to get back on track and fight toward their ultimate goal!

Under the tutelage of Potters from the past, this team is getting back to its winning ways in a hurry.  With the rival Quakers on the docket this week, The Big Blue Wrecking Crew know one thing, and one thing only: They’re in for a fight.  If there’s one win they want more than any other, it’s this one.
