POLAND POWERS PAST EAGLES

HUBBARD, OH- Poland is trying to keep up with South Range in the NE8 standings.  The win on Thursday went a long way in doing so.  Poland won the contest against Hubbard, 8-3.

Poland got on the board in the first inning when Braeden O’Shaughnessy singled, scoring one run.  Hubbard evened things up at three in the bottom of the second inning when Hayden Fox singled home a run for the Eagles.

Then, Poland put the foot on the accelerator and pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Jeremy Castro doubled on a 1-0 count, clearing the bases and scoring three runs.

Jared Knight took the win for Poland. He went six innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out three. Robbie Seitz threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Anthony Corrin took the loss for Hubbard. He went seven innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits and striking out two.

Braden Olson led the Bulldogs with three hits in four at-bats.

Fox went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Hubbard in hits.

POLAND TAKES NE8 CROWN AFTER 13 INNING WIN

HUBBARD, OH- Poland nabbed the lead late in the game in a 7-4 victory over Hubbard on Thursday.  The game was tied at four with Poland batting in the top of the thirteenth when Brooke Bobbey singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Ashley Wire led Poland to victory by driving in four runs.  She went 3-for-6 at the plate.  Wire drove in runs on a home run in the seventh and a double in the thirteenth.

In the first inning, Hubbard got their offense started when Jackie Adler doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

The Bulldogs evened things up at four in the top of the seventh inning.  Wire drove in two when she homered.

After the Bulldogs scored one run in the top of the third, Hubbard answered with one of their own.  Poland scored when Cami Lattanzio’s sac fly scored one run.  Hubbard then answered when Hannah Kist doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Wire was credited with the victory for Poland. She lasted 13 innings, allowing 13 hits and four runs while striking out seven and walking one.

Grace Narkum took the loss for Hubbard. She allowed 16 hits and seven runs over 13 innings, striking out one.

Poland hit two home runs on the day. Ally Nittoli had a dinger in the second inning. Wire had a homer in the seventh inning.

Poland tallied 16 hits in the game.  Bobbey, Wire, Emily Denney, Jackie Grisdale, and Nittoli each had multiple hits.  Bobbey went 4-for-7 at the plate to lead Poland in hits

Hubbard tallied 13 hits on the day.  Adler, Sydney Bowser, Kist, Najdusak, and Haley Croyle all managed multiple hits.

LADY EAGLES LIGHT UP NORTON

AKRON, OH- There were runs aplenty on Sunday, as the Hubbard Lady Eagles defeated Norton 9-6.  Norton opened up scoring in the first inning. Skidmore drove in one when she doubled.  However, after a couple of goose eggs on offense, the Eagles pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the frame Sydney Bowser singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run, Hannah Kist drew a walk with the bases loaded, Jackie Adler singled, scoring one run, and Hubbard scored two on an error in center field.

Norton scored three runs in the seventh inning but just couldn’t complete the comeback on the Lady Eagles. Norton’s big inning was driven by singles by Brokloff and Azzolina.

Grace Narkum earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Hubbard Lady Eagles Varsity. She allowed ten hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Appel took the loss for Norton. She lasted five innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out seven.

Hubbard totaled nine hits. BowserKellsie LeshnakAdler, and Gillian Ryser all managed multiple hits for the team. RyserAdlerLeshnak, and Bowser each managed two hits to set the tone for the day.

Norton totaled ten hits in the game. AmentiniSkidmore, and Brokloff each collected multiple hits for Norton.

HUBBARD SNEAKS PAST WILDCATS

HUBBARD, OH- The Struthers Wildcats watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 2-0 loss to Hubbard on Wednesday.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Hubbard pitchers struck out 12, while Struthers sat down five.

In the first inning, Hubbard got their offense started when Evan Jarvis drew a walk, scoring one run.  The one bright spot for Struthers was a single by Jacob McQueen in the first inning.

Dylan Durkos got the win for Hubbard. He allowed five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking zero.

Jared Laczko took the loss for Struthers. He allowed two hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five.

Rob TomkoBilly OpritzaHunter StellatoMcQueen, and Laczko all had one hit to lead the Wildcats.

LADY EAGLES CLAW THEIR WAY TO VICTORY OVER MATHEWS

MATHEWS, OH- Hubbard snatched the lead late in the game in an 11-5 victory over Mathews on Friday. The game was tied at five with the Lady Eagles batting in the top of the fifth when an error scored one run for Hubbard.

Hubbard got things moving in the first inning, when Jackie Adler singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.  Hubbard scored three runs in the seventh inning. Hubbard batters contributing to the big inning included Grace NarkumSydney Bowser, and Haley Croyle, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Narkum took the win for Hubbard. She surrendered five runs on four hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out six.

Becca Landis took the loss for Mathews. She went five innings, allowing seven runs on 14 hits, striking out two and walking one.

Hubbard hit one home run on the day. Bowser went deep in the seventh inning.  Hubbard tallied 20 hits in the game. Hannah KistBowserEmily FilickyCroyleKellsie LeshnakNarkum, and Adler each racked up multiple hits for the Lady Eagles. Kist led the team with four hits in five at-bats.

Ashley Deans went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Mathews in hits.

LADY EAGLES BRING IN 18, BANISH BROOKFIELD

HUBBARD, OH- Both Hubbard and Brookfield had their offenses going on Thursday, but the Lady Eagles eventually prevailed 18-7.  Hubbard secured the victory thanks to 11 runs in the second inning. Jackie AdlerGrace NarkumGillian RyserKellsie LeshnakGiavanna Hosack, and Adler all drove in runs in the frame.

Brookfield got things started in the first inning when Chloe Willrich singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

It didn’t take long for the Lady Eagle response, in the bottom of the first inning, Hubbard Lady Eagles Varsity tied things up at two. Sydney Bowser provided a two-run double to even things out.

From there it was all Lady Eagles, as Hubbard pulled away for good with 11 runs in the second inning. In the second Adler doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs, Narkum tripled, scoring one run, Ryser followed up with a single, scoring two runs, Leshnak singled, scoring one run, Hosack doubled, scoring two runs, and Adler singled, scoring two runs.  The hit parade was in full effect in the second inning.

After Brookfield scored two runs in the top of the fourth, Hubbard answered again with two of their own. Brookfield scored when Becca Litz singled, scoring one run. Hubbard then answered when Ryser singled, scoring a pair.

Ryser pitched Hubbard to victory. She lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out two and walking one.

Babby Schiska took the loss for Brookfield. She surrendered 18 runs on 20 hits over four innings, walking zero.

Hubbard had 20 hits in the game. Emily FilickyLeshnakNarkumBowserHannah KistAdlerRyser, and Hosack each had multiple hits for the Lady Eagles.  NarkumLeshnak, and Filicky each collected three hits to lead the team.

Brookfield collected six hits on the day. Willrich and Litz all managed multiple hits for Brookfield. Willrich led Brookfield with three hits in three at-bats.

CROYLE, KIST HOMER HUBBARD PAST LADY BULLDOGS

CORTLAND, OH- Lakeview stayed in it until the end, but Hubbard pulled away late in an 11-5 victory on Wednesday. Hubbard was down 4-3 in the top of the sixth inning when Haley Croyle homered, driving in two.

Hubbard scored four runs in the seventh inning including a clutch home run by Hannah Kist.

Croyle was the winning pitcher for Hubbard. She allowed six hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out nine.  Cait Kelm took the loss for Lakeview Bulldogs Varsity. She went seven strong innings, allowing 11 runs on 15 hits, striking out five and walking one.

Lakeview tallied six hits. Kelm and Beady Titus each racked up multiple hits for the Lady Bulldogs. Titus and Kelm each collected two hits to lead Lakeview.

Hubbard collected 15 hits. KistGiavanna HosackKellsie LeshnakSydney Bowser, and Emily Filicky each managed multiple hits for Hubbard. Kist led Hubbard with three hits in four at-bats. Hubbard didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kist had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

LAKEVIEW LATE PUSH EARNS VICTORY OVER HUBBARD

HUBBARD, OH- It was a late push by the Bulldog hitters that led the way in a winning contest against Hubbard, 5-4 on Tuesday night.

In the top of the seventh inning, Lakeview tied things up at four when an error scored one run for the Bulldogs.  Lakeview scored three runs in the fifth inning to climb back and take a 3-2 lead. Brendon KilpatrickJake Wilms, and Matthew McRoberts each drove in runs during the inning.

Nick Demonica got the start for Lakeview. He surrendered four runs on four hits over five innings, striking out eight.

Corrin led things off on the mound for Hubbard. He went five innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, striking out three and walking one. MosoraJarvis, each contributed in relief for Hubbard.

Lakeview tallied 11 hits. KilpatrickAustin Vogt, and Demonica all collected multiple hits for the Bulldogs. Kilpatrick led the Dogs with four hits in five at-bats.

Jamie Thomson went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Hubbard in hits. Hubbard tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Palumbo led the way with two.

LADY EAGLES FLY OVER LAKEVIEW

HUBBARD, OH- Even though Lakeview collected seven hits to Hubbard’s six, they still fell 8-1 on Tuesday.

In the second inning, Hubbard got their offense started. A passed ball allowed Ryser to score one run for Hubbard.  Hubbard pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third, an error scored two runs for Hubbard and Sydney Bowser homered, scoring three runs for the Eagles.

Grace Narkum was the winning pitcher for Hubbard. She went seven innings, allowing one run on seven hits, striking out seven and walking one.

Cait Kelm took the loss for Lakeview. She went five innings, allowing eight runs on four hits and striking out seven.

Beady Titus led Lakeview with two hits in four at-bats.

Hubbard tallied six hits. Giavanna Hosack and Gillian Ryser both managed multiple hits for Hubbard. Hubbard didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hannah Kist had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.

NARKUMS CLUTCH HIT PROPELS HUBBARD PAST HOWLAND

Hubbard  took Thursday’s game in dramatic fashion, with  a 10-9 walk-off victory over Howland.  Hubbard was down 9-8 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Grace Narkum doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

The Eagles built a five-run lead in the third inning and then held off Howland’s charge.  Howland managed eight runs in the failed comeback. A Rodgers, J Sindledecker,  E Darlington, M Jerina, E O’Connell, and M Miller fueled the rally with RBIs.

Hubbard opened up an early lead in the second inning when.

In the top of the sixth inning, Howland tied things up at eight when Miller singled on a 3-0 count, scoring one run.

The Eagles put up four runs in the third inning.  Emily Filicky and Giavanna Hosack each had RBIs in the big inning.

Filicky led the Eagles to victory on the rubber. She went one and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out two and walking zero.

Miller took the loss for Howland. She lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing 17 hits and ten runs while striking out three.

 Gillian Ryser started the game for Hubbard. She went five and a third innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits and striking out three

Hubbard had 17 hits in the game.  Jackie Adler, Hosack, Sydney Bowser, Filicky, Narkum, and Ryser each managed multiple hits for Hubbard Lady Eagles Varsity.  Hosack and Adler each collected three hits to lead Hubbard Lady Eagles Varsity.

Howland collected 12 hits on the day.  B Beasom, Darlington, Miller, and O’Connell each collected multiple hits for Howland.  Howland didn’t commit a single error in the field. Darlington had the most chances in the field with six.
