SALEM FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 11) WITH RON JOHNSON

Coach Ron Johnson and the Salem Quakers closed out their regular season at home in week ten with a 46-27 victory over the West Branch Warriors last Friday night. With that win, the Quakes secured a spot in the 2019 OHSAA State Football Playoffs. Salem will hit the road and travel to Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy on Saturday night.

YSN’s own, Jarrod Niederhiser, sat down with Coach Johnson to discuss the first round of the playoffs and to get his take on what the Quakers need to do to advance into the next round.

SALEM FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 10) WITH RON JOHNSON

Week nine matched Coach Ron Johnson and the Salem Quakers up with the Kenmore/Garfield Cardinals. The Quakers came out firing on all cylinders en route to a 32-18 victory. Week ten will be the final game of the 2019 regular season as Salem will play host to their rivals, the West Branch Warriors.

YSN’s, Jarrod Niederhiser, caught up with Coach Johnson this week to talk about what the Quakes need to do to get a win in week ten but also what their outlook is for the playoffs, as they are currently the six seed of Region 13 in Division 4.

SALEM FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 9) WITH RON JOHNSON

Week eight saw Coach Ron Johnson and the Salem Quakers play host to the Minerva Lions. The Quakes jumped on the Lions and took care of business as they came out with a 42-13 victory. Week nine will once again see Salem play at home as they welcome the Kenmore/Garfield Cardinals to town.

YSN’s own, Jarrod Niederhiser, sat down with Coach Johnson to discuss Quakers football, their week nine matchup against the Cardinals, but also what his squad needs to accomplish in the final two weeks of the season to keep their playoff hopes alive, as they are currently sitting as the eighth seed of Region 13 in Division 4.

Coach Ron Johnson and the Salem Quakers fought hard all night long but unfortunately fell just short last Friday night in Alliance, 24-20. Week eight will see the Quakes return home to take on the Lions of Minerva.

Week six saw Coach Ron Johnson and his undefeated Salem Quakers put their winning streak on the line in a road matchup

against the Marlington Dukes. Unfortunately, the Quakes fell just short and suffered their first loss of the season. Week seven will not be an easy test either for Coach Johnson’s team as they hit the road and travel to Alliance to take on the Aviators.

YSN’s Jarrod Niederhiser caught up with Coach Johnson to discuss the winning streak, what he and his staff took away from the Marlington game, and also what the Quakes need to do to get back to their winning ways against Alliance.

Coming off a nice win down in Carrollton in week four, the Quakers will welcome Canton South to town as they look to keep rolling and start off 5-0 for the first time since 2015.
