VALLEY WINS BATTLE OF THE EAGLES

A big 3rd quarter helped the Valley Christian  Eagles defeat the United Eagles 41-37 in a battle of the Eagles. Valley outscored United 15-4 in the 3rd period.

Valley Christian scored 18 points from beyond the arc hitting on 6 3-pointers.

Valley’s Joey Battisa led his team in scoring with 11 points as the Eagles improved to 7-3 and 6-2 in EOAC play.

United drops to 5-8 and 4-5 in league play had Keaton Baker and Nate Miller each score 12 points for the Eagles.

United will travel to Lisbon for their next game on Friday. Watch this contest on YSN.

STRONG FINISH GETS EAGLES PAST PALESTINE

YOUNGSTOWN OH- The Valley Christians Eagles pulled away in the final quarter to seal a 56-50 win over the visiting East Palestine Bulldogs.

The Eagle’s Kristen Gill paced her team with 23 points and DiAndra Tensley added 14 points.

For the Bulldogs Joclyn Fristik canned 5 3-points from behind the ac to lead her team with 23 points and Morgan Rutledge scored 10 points.

The Eagles  improve to 5-3 and the Bulldogs stand at 3-1. Both teams will play Thursday with East Palestine hosting Leetonia and Valley Christian will travel to Lisbon to take on the Blue Devils.

UNITED GRABS FIRST PLACE

HANOVERTON OH In a battle of Eagles the United Local Eagles came out of top on the Valley Christian Eagles in a close battle 34-31 in Thursday night action.

The game was tied at the midway mark at 20’s and the final 2 quarters saw United score 14 points and Valley Christian scoring 11.

For United Grace Knight and Taylor Cope each put up 7 points while Valley’s Kristen Gillhad scored 14 points.

VALLEY’S BALANCED OFFENSE TOO MUCH FOR CLIPPERS

Youngstown, OH- The Valley Christian Eagles offense was on full display in Tuesdays matchup against the Columbiana Clippers. 8 players from Valley Christian scored at least 6 points in the winning effort led by Sekou Stanley, Zavion Howard and Mark Revere all scoring in double figures. Eagles win 74-48

Valley Christian and Columbiana traded the lead back and forth early in the 1st quarter. The Clippers ended the quarter 3 of 4 from the three point line but the Eagles took over in the 2nd with turnovers and fast break points giving them the 42-24 lead going into the locker. Brandon Paige and Revere had 8 points in the half while Nick Million had 9.
The Eagles ran away with the game in the second half with three players going into double figures in scoring. Valley Christian wins 74-48 in a balanced offensive game. Million lead all scorers with 26 while Stanley finished the game with 13 points for the Eagles. Valley Christian (6-3) will travel to Leetonia on Friday while Columbiana (1-11) will travel to Southern. Catch both games on YSNlive.com

TIGERS GET A LEG UP ON VALLEY

WELLSVILLE OH- In a key EOAC battle the Wellsville Tigers topped the visiting Valley Christian Eagles 61-54. The victory improved the Tigers  to 7-2 for the season and 4-1 in the League while the Eagles falls to 6-3 on the year and 4-2 in the EOAC.

Wellsville’s Luke Green and  Isaiah Greathouse each scored 17 points and Jaxon Brewer dropped in 14 points for the Tigers.

Valley Christian’s Sekou Stanley had a big night with 25 points and teammate Mark Revere had 14 points  as the Eagles had 93-pointers.

Both teams return to the hardwood Tuesday with Wellsville travling to United and Valley Christian plays host to Columbiana.

EAGLES START STRONG AND DON’T LOOK BACK

YOUNGSTOWN OH- The Valley Christian Eagles,5-2, hit on 10 3-pointers to take down the Lisbon Blue Devils 73-42.

Mark Revere led the charge  for Valley with 21 points and teammate Zavion Howard followed him with 14 points.The Eagles had a 33-19 halftime lead and added 24 points in the 3rd quarter to put the contest away.

Lisbon’s Blayne Brownfield scored 26 points for the Blue Devils. Next up for the 9-3 Blue Devils is a Tuesday night game as the Leetonia Bears invade Lisbon.

VALLEY GRABS FIRST PLACE IN EOAC

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Valley Christian clawed their way to first place in the EOAC with a big 36-25 win over United on Monday night. United led 10-5 after the first quarter, but the Eagles defense clamped down the rest of the way on the way to the win.

Kristen Gill put the Eagles on her back by scoring 22 points on the night. DiAndra Tensley added 9.

United was led by Taylor Cope who scored 11 for the Eagles. Grace Knight added 6.

VALLEY CHRISTIAN KENNELS BULLDOGS ON THE ROAD

EAST PALESTINE, OH- It took an extended period for the East Palestine Bulldogs to get their season started, and the new-look Bulldogs are anxious to get their first win under their belt.  Unfortunately for them, Valley Christian walked into the ‘Dog Pound’ and will make the Bulldogs wait for at least another day.  The Eagles handled their business in route to a 54-26 victory over East Palestine on Friday night.

For Valley, Mark Revere set the tone with 16 points to lead all scorers.  Zavion Howard also had a big night with a dozen points on the night, Veshan Gurley was clutch with 9 points of his own in the winning effort.

The Bulldogs were led by Dom Wycoff’s 12, while Weston Jones and Tyler Bistarkey each contributed 5 points.

East Palestine will continue its feverish pace to make-up games Saturday against Leetonia at home.

VALLEY OPENS THEIR SEASON STRONG

YOUNGSTOWN, OH- Down at the half 14-12 Valley Christian scored 28 2nd half points to pull away from Lisbon 40-27.

The 1-0 VCS Eagles Kristen Gill scored 19 points.

The Blue Devils dropped to 2-5 for the season. Madison Haifley hit on 3 3 pointers for  9 points and teammate Morgan Lively scored 8 points for Lisbon.  Lisbon takes on the Leetonia Bears next Monday at Leetonia.

VALLEY CHRISTIAN WINS DEFENSIVE STRUGGLE

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Scoring only 5 points in the 2nd quarter Valley Christian relied on their defense to help out which they did holding Leeonia to just 2 points in that frame winning a close battle 46-42.

The Eagles were paced by a 12 point effort by Mark Revere. Sekou Stanley had 11 points and Joey Battista and Zavion Howard each added 10 points. For the Bears, Ian Davis scored 20 points and Dylan Lennon dropped  in 15 points.
