CREEKSIDE AND PROSPECTS DRAW EVEN

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside and Prospects couldn’t decide a winner on Sunday as they ended in a 5-5 tie. Prospects scored two runs in the 6th to tie things up.

For Creekside Johnny Leedham collected the team’s only RBI’s. He went 2-3 with 2 RBI. Jack Davis also had multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored.

Brandon Popio had a good day swinging the stick for Prospects. He went 2-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Jake Hettrick went 1-2 with a walk and a RBI.

Hettrick pitched the bulk of the innings for Prospects. He threw 5 innings giving up 5 runs on 7 hits. He struck out 6.

Devin Gruver got the most work for Creekside. He went 3 innings and gave up 0 runs on 1 hit.

TWO BIG INNINGS LIFT KNIGHTLINE TO VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline did all of their scoring in two separate innings on Sunday against Ballistic Baseball. They scored seven in the 2nd and 5 in the fourth in a 12-9 win.

Brett Bobin continues to have an impressive summer going 2-3 for Knightline with 2 runs scored, a walk, and 2 RBI. Gabe Faunda went 3-3 with a run scored and a RBI. James Meehan went 2-2 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and a RBI.

Ballistic had an impressive offensive showing as well. Dustin Horn went 3-4 with a run scored and a game-High 3 RBI. Anthony Koulianos went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.

Mason McCurdy got the win on the bump for Knightline. He went 2 innings and gave up 1 earned run on 5 hits. He struck out a pair.

PROSPECTS BARREL THROUGH AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Prospects used a combination of strong offense and lights out pitching to make quick work of Avalanche on Sunday 7-1. Prospects scored 7 runs on 8 hits while allowing Avalanche on 1 run on 4 hits.

Jake Hettrick didn’t collect a hit for Prospects, but he did lead the team with 2 RBI. He also walked and scored a run. Peyton Koss went 1-2 with a run scored and a RBI.

Tim West collected 2 of his team’s 4 hits as he had a perfect day at the plate going 2-2. Lucas Cummings went 1-2 and had Avalanche’s sole RBI.

Robby Kist was dynamite on the hill for Prospects. He went 4 innings and gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He struck out 1 batter.

KNIGHTLINE STITCHES A WIN OVER EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- A six run 7th inning all but sealed the deal for Knightline as they cruised to a 9-4 win over Eagle Wear on Sunday. Eagle Wear actually out hit Knightline 9-8, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Knightline’s timely offense.

Mikey Sciortino has a solid day at the plate for Knightline. He went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. He knocked in 2 runs. Teagan McCurdy also had 2 RBI on the day. He went 1-4. Gavin Shrum went 2-3 with 3 runs scored, a walk, and a RBI.

Christopher Altiere went 2-3 for Eagle Wear with a run scored and a RBI. Joe Roth went 3-4 with 2 RBI. Brett Brown was also productive going 1-2 with 2 runs scored and a walk.

Jake Corll pitched the bulk of the innings for Knightline. He threw 5 innings giving up 3 runs on 7 hits and struck out 5. Anthony Butto was the winning pitcher.

ASTROS SURVIVE SCARE FROM PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- After Astro Falcons scored four runs in the 1st inning, The Prospects made a mighty comeback to tie things up in the 5th. The Falcons responded with one run, and then shut down the Prospects offense to steal a 5-4 victory.

Matt Shepard went 2-3 for the Falcons with a run scored and a RBI. Dom Pilolli went 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Will Ray went 1-2 with a run scored and a RBI.

Jared Mindek has a monster day and went 3-4 with a run scored and 3 RBI. Clay Wiesen went 2-4 with a run scored and a RBI.

Cal Bickerstaff was rewarded the win on the rubber. He went 2 innings and gave up 0 runs on 1 hit. He struck out 4.

CREEKSIDE USES EARLY LEAD TO PREVAIL OVER WHITING

STRUTHERS OH-

Whiting Roll-Offs fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-5 loss to Creekside on Sunday.  Creekside scored two on a single by Tyler Mikulin in the first inning.

Whiting  tallied three runs in the third inning.  Corbin Sevcik, Nate Thomas, and Owen Keister all drove in runs in the frame.

Creekside scored three runs in the seventh inning.  The big inning came thanks to a single by Jacob Werner and an error on a ball put in play by Mikulin.

Michael Patellis got the start for Creekside. He surrendered three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one.

Grant Melder led things off on the hill for Whiting. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out one.  

Whiting totaled ten hits.  Thomas, Ben Miller, and Melder each racked up multiple hits.  Thomas went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Whiting in hits.

Creekside tallied 11 hits in the game.  Werner, Dylan Sheeley and Mikulin all managed multiple hits for.  Werner led Creekside with three hits in four at bats.

EAGLE WEAR KEEPS ROTH OFFENSE DOWN

STRUTHERS OH- Eagle Wear pitching was on point Sunday morning as they held Roth Brothers to 2 hits in a 6-1 win. Eagle Wear scored 6 runs on 8 hits.

Ryan Hooper went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI for Eagle Wear. Anthony Caruso went 1-3 with a RBI. Cal Rink went 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI.

For Roth Brothers, Nick Plant went 1-1 with a RBI. Derek Porter collected the other Roth Brothers hit. Sam Campbell scored the only Roth run and he also walked once.

Jake Papagallo earned the win on the hill for Eagle Wear. He went 5 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits. He struck out 9.

EAGLE WEAR FREEZES AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Eagle Wear jumper all over Avalanche on Saturday on their way to a 14-4 win. 15 hits helps Eagle Wear score their 14 runs. Avalanche collected 5 hits.

Ricky Enlow did great things for Eagle Wear going 3-4 scoring 1 run and 2 RBI.  Matt Womer went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI. Brett Palmer mirrored those numbers going 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.

Marshal Weinberg had a good night for Avalanche going 2-3 with a RBI. He also scored a run. Alex Sierra went 1-2 with a RBI.

Josh Corll picked up the win for Eagle Wear toeing the rubber. He gave up 3 earned runs on 4 hits in 4 innings pitched. He struck out a pair.

DURA EDGE SLICES THROUGH AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge ran away with the game on Saturdayas they cruised to a 12-5 win over Avalanche. Dura Edge scores 12 runs on 10 hits while Avalanche scored 5 runs on 4 hits.

Jake Bowen led the offensive onslaught for Dura Edge as he went 3-4 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and 2 RBI. Brock Janeda went 1-3 with 2 RBI. Joey Perfette went 1-4 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and 2 RBI.

Ty Tamburro had a multiple hit night for Avalanche. He went 2-3 with 2 RBI. Albert Gerlick went 1-3 with a RBI.

Bowen also got the victory on the rubber for Dura Edge. He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits. He struck out 5.

PROSPECTS BLANK KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH- Prospects shutout Knightline on Saturday 9-0. Prospects scored their 9 runs on 8 hits, and held Knightline to only 2 hits.

Austen Price was a monster for Prospects. He went 3-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. David Leslie went 1-4 with 2 RBI. Nick Osborne went 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI.

Nathan Meeks went 1-2 for Knightline. Brett Bobin got the other hit for the team going 1-3.

Jeremy Kreuzwieser was masterful on the mound. He went the distance pitching all 7 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits. He struck out 6. He only used 77 pitches.
