PILOLLI POP

YOUNGSTOWN, OH- One of the best players in the area in the last handful of years has successfully flown under the radar.  Former Canfield Cardinal-and current Charlotte 49er, Dominic Pilolli was able to dominate the Youngstown Class B League the last few years and is looking to provide a sweet swan song on his way out in 2020.

Pilolli was considered one of the best outfielders in the state when he led Canfield to three-straight district championship appearances and winning two of the three.  Dom was also first-team All-Ohio, All-Conference, and hit over .500 his senior campaign.

In a pandemic shortened Freshmen year, Dom dialed up starts in all 17 games of the season, while leading the team with a .403 average.  That stat shined a light on him as he was the fourth-best in Conference USA with that line.  Pilolli also slashed 14 RBI on the season, while going deep twice.

As for this summer, Dom has hit .314 while promoting a nearly .500 OBP for Coach Pletcher’s Astro Falcons.  Pilolli leads the team in triples (4) and is second on the roster in hits (11).

We caught up with the sweet-swinging lefty to discuss the year he’s had, his time at Cene Park, and future plans, all on this week’s Player Profile for Youngstown Class B: Pilolli Pop.
