IRISH BURNS FIRELANDS IN EXTRA FRAMES

STRUTHERS, OH- The Cardiac Kids have returned.  This time they’re wearing green and gold.

The Ursuline Irish have a flair for the dramatic, and they posted up another walk-off winner on Saturday night in game two of their doubleheader at the Bob Cene High School Tournament winning 7-6 over Firelands.

JUST HOW HE DREW IT UP

The last 2 years have been a blur for Senior Infielder, Drew Dickerson.  For good reason, though, as Dickerson has had a lot of fun playing for the red and white.  As a Junior, Drew played in 53 games-all but one at second base.  All the while hitting .280 and cranking out 54 hits on the season.  So far this year, 18 has matched his extra-base totals at the plate with five doubles and has added a pair of triples as well.  Dickerson is looking to go out with a bang as he’s heating up as the season progresses.

One half of the “Canadian Connection” Dickerson hails from Port Hope, Ontario and continues to represent well in Youngstown, Ohio.  A General Studies Major at YSU, he’s taken a keen interest in one thing: winning.  As of late, Dickerson is passing all the eye tests and has served as the straw that stirs the drink in Coach Bertolini’s lineup.
