TIGERS AND CLIPPERS ROCK THE PINK
NEW MIDDLETOWN OH- Springfield and Columbiana are old school rivals on the volleyball courts. On Tuesday night they proved that rivals can come together for a worth cause. Both teams sported their pink for breast cancer awareness. Together both teams raised over $1,500 for breast cancer awareness. On the floor the Tigers picked up the win in 4 sets. (14-25 25-16 25-14 25-22)
Baelyn Brungard had a great night for the Tigers acquiring a triple double with 15 kills, 16 assists, and 12 digs. Jameka Brungard and Madi Lesnak both added 8 kills for the Tigers offense. Sami McKim led the defense with 28 digs. Jacey Mullen was impressive on defense as well with 24 digs, she also chipped in 7 kills. Gianna Piccuta also had 16 assists as well.
Cameron Perkins, Ellie Jackson, and Danica Halas all had 6 kills for the Clippers offense. Jackson had a double double with 22 digs, and 14 assists. Perkins was 1 assist away from a double double with 19 digs, and 9 assists.
Both teams return to action on Wednesday as Springfield will host Struthers, and Columbiana will travel to Ursuline.
