TIGERS TAKE DOWN REIGNING MVAC CHAMPIONS

NEW MIDDKETOWN OH- The girls soccer rivalry between Waterloo and Springfield has picked up serious steam over the years. The two teams have been consistently fighting over the top spot in the MVSC for years. For a long time the spot belonged to Springfield, but last season the Vikings finally took their seat at the top. The Tigers took a big step in reclaiming their throne on Monday as they took down Waterloo 2-1.

Springfield’s offense was all about Ava Vecchione who delivered with a pair of goals.  Macey Isaacson and Maddie Page both helped out with assists on the night.  Emma Mills had 8 saves in the Tigers defense, Ally Guerriero added a pair.

Waterloo’s lone goal came from Olivia Boyle.  Sophia Wood had 4 saves in the goal for the Vikings.

Springfield has a big matchup inside the MVAC on tap as they travel to 4-0 Champion on Wednesday. Waterloo will try to bounce back Wednesday hosting Brookfield.
