TIGERS WIN DEFENSIVE GRUDGE MATCH WITH NILES

NILES OH- On the opening night of High School football, The Howland Tigers traveled to Niles to face off against their rival, The Niles Mckinley Red Dragons. The game was dominated by Howland running back Matt Womer. Womer ran up and down the field all night for the Tigers and set up two field goal attempts which were made by kicker Ashleigh Macias. Macias’s field goals put the Tigers up 6-0 and thats the way it stayed all night with the Howland defense being no match for the Niles Mckinley Red Dragons. The Red Dragons were led by third string quarterback, Kristopher Hrosar. Hrosar came in relief after starting quarterback, Andrew Huffman, and back up quarterback, Roberto Merlo, were injured. The Howland Tigers look for their second win of the season next friday night at home vs Ravenna as the Red Dragons will travel to Alliance next friday to face off against the Aviators, looking for their first win on the season.
