TIGERS WIN THE DAY AT THE TONI ROSS

HOWLAND OH- The Howland Tigers had a standout performance at the Toni Ross Invitational on Saturday, securing victories in both of their games with dominant displays on both offense and defense.

In their first game against Solon, the Tigers cruised to a 9-3 win, powered by a strong offensive showing. Brooke Tatar led the charge with a 1-for-3 performance that included a home run and three RBIs. Maya Kubanscek contributed an RBI as well, while Madison Schmitz had an impressive 3-for-4 outing with three runs scored. Alyssa Massucci added to the offensive onslaught with a 1-for-3 performance and two runs scored. Tatar also excelled on the mound, pitching five innings, allowing just one hit, and striking out eight batters to secure the win.

In their second game against LaBrae, Howland’s offense continued to shine as they ran past their opponents with an 11-1 victory. Tatar once again played a pivotal role, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Sydney VaNess and Marissa Ray each contributed two RBIs, while Calleigh Luman added another two RBIs to the scoreboard. Tatar also showcased her pitching prowess, throwing three innings, allowing only two hits, and striking out six batters while keeping LaBrae off the scoreboard.

Despite the loss, Mariah Jones provided a bright spot for LaBrae with a 2-for-2 performance, including a home run and an RBI.

With these two impressive wins, Howland demonstrated their strength both offensively and defensively, setting a high standard for the rest of the season.
