TIMLIIN TALLIES TWO TDs; RED DEVILS ROLL

CAMPBELL, OH –    Friday night lights returned to the valley as Campbell played host to the Knights of Aquinas. From the first kickoff, this one was all Red Devils as they look to grab their first winning season since 2012. Campbell was able to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, aided by the powerful big men, Jordan Gore and Matt Koziorynsky. The blocking up front opened things up for an opening drive touchdown as Kevin Timlin carried one in from 6 yards out.

That might have wrapped up the scoring for the first quarter, but the Red Devils still had more in the tank. It was the junior Timlin again, early in the 2nd quarter, who found the end zone. This time, playing on the other side of the ball, Timlin would make a great read and an even better break on the ball as he earned the quick pick 6 and put the Red Devils up 14-0 after the PAT.

Campbell would follow up with touchdown runs from Malik Young and Mihali Koullias. In between, Matt Koziorynsky forced his way through the offensive line of the Knights and earned two more points with a tackle in the backfield for a safety. Campbell took a 30-0 lead into halftime and wouldn’t look back.

With a running clock in the 2nd half, the Campbell offense wouldn’t tack on any additional points, but the defense continued to hold their own and earned a shutout on the night. Campbell will travel to Lowellville next and look to keep things rolling against a tough Rockets team.
