WATTS NO NO HIGHLIGHTS MYRTLE BEACH FINALE

MYRTLE BEACH OH-  The Grand Strand Classic had its fair share of strong competitions with state ranked teams from all over the country.  The Lady Falcon softball team bounced back from an extra inning loss against the #1 ranked team in West Virginia on Thursday, to defeat the #3 ranked team from Chantilly, Virginia, St. Paul VI Catholic High School 6-1.  With the win the team finished their stay in Myrtle Beach, SC with a 3-2 overall record and up their season record to 13-2.

As she has done twice before already this season, Freshmen Sydnie Watts combined with junior catcher McKenna Hogan for her third no-hitter on the year. Watts struck out 18 batters on the day for her 12th win on the season.

Sophomores Ayla Ray and Bella Tofil each had 2 singles with Ray driving in 2 runs.  Senior Maddy Taylor singled, doubled and drove in a run for the offense.

The team is back to AAC conference paly on Monday, April 25 when they travel to Boardman for a 5:00 PM game.
