MOONEY KEEPS THE WILDCATS QUIET
STRUTHERS OH- Mooney’s baseball squad brought their A-game on Saturday afternoon, blanking Struthers in a commanding 4-0 victory that showcased their stellar defense.
While the bats didn’t explode, Mooney’s offense did enough to secure the win. Matt Kay led the charge, going 2 for 3 at the plate and driving in a crucial run. Trent Litman and Ben Oddis each contributed with an RBI, while Gabe Saunders reached base and scored a run to add to the offensive effort.
But it was Mooney’s pitching that stole the show. Ben Oddis took the mound and dominated Struthers for the entire game. Over seven innings, he allowed just two hits and didn’t give up a single run while striking out an impressive eight batters. It was a masterclass in pitching, keeping Struthers’ hitters guessing and unable to generate any offense.
