BEAVERS MOVE WIN STREAK TO SEVEN

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- The Beavers continue on their path of destruction, as they win their 7th straight game, beating Martins Ferry 49-18 on Friday night.

The Beavers got started right out of the gate, as they took the opening drive 70 yards in 2 minutes for a TD drive capped off by a 4 yard Joe Monte TD run. They would score again easily in the second quarter, courtesy of an Austin Cline 9 yard TD run, the first of three on the day. Martins Ferry wouldn’t go away so easily though, as they connected for a 79 yard TD pass from Ayden Ludolph to Baron Lucy. The Beavers responded with another TD drive that was capped off by an Austin Cline TD run, this time on a 1 yard QB sneak. The Purple Riders responded as well, giving it to Davian Ray for an 8 yard TD run towards the end of the first half.

The Beavers were given just over a minute before the half, and they weren’t satisfied with the 21-12 lead. They would score on a 25 yard TD pass from Austin Cline to Caden Foster, and fake the PAT to get 2 more heading into the locker room up 29-12. It seemed like the Beavers, despite the 17 point lead, we’re playing with their food a little in the first half, but came out of the locker room ready to feast. They would force a turnover on Ferry’s first drive in the third, courtesy of a Caden Foster INT, and the ensuing drive was capped off by an Austin Cline TD run from 17 yards out. Cline added to the stat line the next time the Beavers got the ball, as he got Dylan Ferguson on a screen play perfectly executed for a 43 yard score. Caleb White would cap the scoring for the Beavers with a 32 yard TD score, which saw him run all the way to the left side of the field, and then change course and take it back to the right sideline before he hit paydirt, and the Beavers won another blowout.

They will travel to Wheeling next week to take on the Wheeling Central Catholic Cardinals in an essential play-in game for the playoffs. Beavers win, and they are in. Broadcast starts at 6:30, kickoff at 7.
