BROOKFIELD HOLDS ON TO BEAT BLUE JAYS

NORTH JACKSON OH-

In a matchup between The MVAC Scarlet and Gray Divisions best, The Brookfield Lady Warriors battled The Jackson Milton Lady Blue Jays on Thursday night.

This matchup promised to be a fun and competitive game, and it did not disappoint in that respect!

The Lady Warriors came into this one with an exciting roster, one that sees a good amount of return from last year.

On the other side, The Lady Blue Jays have seven girls strong on their roster, and strong is the perfect way to describe the talent level of The Lady Blue Jays, whose heart more than makes up for the smaller roster.

Brookfield jumped out quickly, grabbing a 12+ point advantage on Jackson Milton, by going on an impressive run on The Blue Jays to start. Thanks in large part to Sophia Hook getting hot from the three-point arc.

However, as Jackson Milton showcased last year, they will not give up. As Kylie Wilson, Chelsea Williams and Ava Darney splashed their way back into the game. Shooting a sharp clip from distance in the second quarter, Jackson Milton came back within a single point of Brookfield to go into halftime.

From that point, it was a sixteen minute heavyweight fight, as both teams exchanged blows, along with the lead. The third quarter ended the same way the second did, Brookfield up by 1.

The fourth quarter had all the drama and excitement you can ask for. Both teams held a lead, both had key free throws, both had big turnovers and both had a shot to win.

When all was said and done, The Lady Warriors defense made up the difference in this one. Senior leader, Anna Reichart stayed consistent scoring the whole night. Her offense was critical down the stretch in helping Brookfield leave victorious.

The Lady Blue Jays fell to 2-1 on the year. The days do not get easier either, with a date at Garrettsville Monday, December 6th at 7:00 p.m. to take on The Lady G-Men is on the docket for Jackson Milton.

Mineral Ridge and The Lady Rams visit Brookfield Saturday, December 4th at noon, as The Lady Warriors look to continue to roll after a 2-0 start on the season!
