BULLDOGS ESCAPE LAKEVIEW WITH WIN

Lakeview lost the lead late in an 11-8 defeat to Poland on Monday. The game was tied at eight with Poland in the top of the seventh when Gia Schiavone singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately for them, Poland  had 12 hits on the way to victory.

Lakeview got things moving in the first inning, when Kylie Imes singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

The Bulldogs put up four runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower was led by Sammy Aey and Maggie Pavlansky, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Katie McDonald took the win for Poland Seminary. The pitcher surrendered eight runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out six.

Raegan Schick took the loss for Lakeview. Schick allowed 12 hits and 11 runs over seven innings, striking out three.

The Bulldogs launched one home run on the day. Pavlansky put one out in the fifth inning.

Lakeview saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Mariah Tackett, Pavlansky, and Abbie Campana all had multiple hits. Campana, Pavlansky, and Tackett each collected two hits to lead.

Poland racked up 12 hits on the day. Abby Farber, Camryn Lattanzio, and Jackie Grisdale all managed multiple hits.
