CANFIELD PUTS THE CLAMPS ON THE TIGERS

Canfield defeated Howland 11-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jameson Beck induced a fly out to finish off the game.

Canfield secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Landon Beidelschies, Nate Shaw, Ryan Petro, Beck, and Josh Juliano, all driving in runs in the inning.

The Cardinals opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored one run.

Canfield put up six runs in the fourth inning. The rally was led by walks by Shaw, Beck, and Juliano, a single by Beidelschies, and an error on a ball put in play by Petro.

Petro led the Canfield to victory on the mound. The righty allowed three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six. Beck threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Anthony Massucci took the loss for Howland. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing nine runs on four hits and striking out two.

Shaw, Beidelschies, AJ Havrilla, Jake Grdic, and Ben Slanker all had one hit to lead Canfield.
