COLUMBIANA, OH- Last year was filled with incredible emotion for Columbiana Coach Todd Johnson, and his Clippers. In year 5, Johnson was able to stand on the ladder with his team and trim down nets after a championship-caliber season. One that many say was years in the making with that senior class, and the Clipper Coaching Staff. Immediately following the season, the world was flipped on its side with COVID-19, and in what was looking to be a challenging year in 2021 for the Clippers, the global pandemic made increasingly difficult with limited time on the court, and in the weight room.
All things considered, though, Johnson has his team well-prepared and STILL willing to take on all challengers on any given night. It’s that impressive demeanor that begins with Johnson that carries through his staff and right down the roster. It’s also that deafening confidence that will continue to keep the Clippers in the fight for another championship in the near future.
We caught up with the 6th year Coach of his alma mater, to discuss the challenges he’s faced with his team, and how they’ve continued to battle against all odds.
