LEAVITTSBURG OH- Not only was this a conference rivalry game between these two teams, but this was a battle between the 36 and 38th team in Division three Men’s basketball as the LaBrae Vikings with a record of four and one were taking on the 2-0 Newton Falls Tigers.  Last time these two teams met was in the playoffs last season and now the Tigers with limited games were looking to get revenge while the Vikings were looking to continue the winning streak.

First Half

The first quarter was all Newton Falls as they started the game with an eight point run, until LaBrae cut it to four.  However, the Tigers would lead at the end by one 15-8.  In the second quarter, it was back to back between the two teams and it looked like the Tigers would lead going into the half.  However, a foul happened which led to two made free throws by LaBrae as both teams went into the half tied at 27.

Second Half

The third quarter was still close but Newton Falls was still up 39-31 as what was a defensive game was becoming more offense for the Tigers with momentum on their side.  In the end, the game came down to the wire with Landon Kiser, and Aiden Stephens leading the Viking squad against Joey Kline and Jordan Dowling.  Newton Fall was leading but they would foul Connor Meyer which would give him three opportunities to make three free throws.  In the end, two of the free throws were missed as the Tigers improved to 3-0 winning 51-46
