EAGLES LOSE THEIR GRIP OF HILLSDALE
GATES MILLS OH- Thursday’s regional semifinal game against Hillsdale was a heartbreaker for JFK, as they lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat. The game was tied at three with Hillsdale batting in the bottom of the sixth when Jack Fickes grounded out, scoring one run.
JFK got on the board in the first inning when Aidan Rossi singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Nick Kandel was the winning pitcher for the Falcons. The fireballer went seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out seven and walking one.
Jaden Rishel took the loss for JFK. The righty allowed two hits and two runs over one inning, striking out one.
Freddy Bolchalk started the game for the Eagles. Bolchalk surrendered two runs on five hits over five innings, striking out two
JFK launched one home run on the day. Caleb Hadley had a homer in the first inning. Alex DeSalvo went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Eagles in hits. Kandel led Hillsdale with two hits in four at bats.
