EAGLES SHINE UNDER THE BIG LIGHTS

By Matt Maher

CLEVELAND, OH – The Eagles flew high in The Land as they took down the undefeated Bristol Panthers 79-65. While both teams had players who played some of the best basketball of their careers, it was Michael Condoleon and Jaden Rishel who stole the show by both recording their 1,00th career points and then some!

JFK came out on a roll to start things off, after recording turnover after turnover the Eagles found themselves on top 24-15. Condoleon found his first 2 points that would inch him closer to his goal and Rishel would find 5 points as well.

The second quarter saw Bristol put up their best offensive performance with 24 points to JFK’s 20. Condoleon, who was just 6 points away from reaching his milestone, hit his first 3-point bucket to get everyone excited in the early goings of the quarter and found his second late in the quarter to stop the clock and cause half the crowd to celebrate. Rishel hit a three, two 2’s and went 2-for-2 at the line putting him at 14 points for the night leaving him with only 7 more points until it was his turn.

The second half saw much better defense on both sides and as a result Bristol would get 13 points while JFK scored 18. Rishel would add 4 more points to his total leading us to an exciting fourth while Condoleon went 3-for-4 at the free throw line and hit another 2-pointer.

It didn’t take long for Rishel to stop the clock as early on in the fourth he hit the 3 he needed to hit 1,000 career points! He would conclude his night of scoring with two more 2-pointers and ending his night with 25 points. Nico Ciminero went 2-for2 at the line and Condoleon scored 2 more points allowing him to finish with 15 points on the day.

On a day where nearly everything was working for JFK, two of their brightest stars shined as bright as they could and gave Warren the exclamation mark they needed in their victory over Bristol at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse . JFK would improve to 6-1 while Bristol was served their first loss of the season giving them a 6-1 record as well. Bristol will be back in action when they travel to LaBrae on December 22nd at 7:ooPM and JFK will also hit the hardwood on the 22nd when they visit Aquinas at 7:00PM.
