LADY RAIDERS REJECT ROOTSTOWN

The South Range Lady Raiders advanced to the district semifinals Saturday afternoon with a 58-22 win over Rootstown.

The 10 seed Rootstown Rovers fresh off an upset victory over East Palestine came into the game with energy. Going toe to toe with the Raiders. The two teams traded buckets back and forth and were tied at 6-6. Bree Kohler who did much of the damage for the Raiders on both sides of the ball was able to spark a 7-1 run to end the first frame and give the Raiders a 13-7 lead.

As the game went on it was clear the Raiders were the better team. The defense gathered 22 steals 7 of them by Kohler. Bro Modic also had a hand in the Raiders domination going 3 of 5 from beyond the arc and also being an aggressive driver. The Raiders outscored the Rovers 47-15 from the 2nd quarter on. They would go on to win 58-22 and advance to the next round.

Bree Kohler led the way for the Raiders with 16 points 7 steals and 4 assists. Bri Modic was also in double figures with 13 points. Izzy Lamparty had 13 points 6 rebounds. The Raiders move on to play Southeast at Struthers High School  on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:45
