FITCH FLEXES ON TIGERS

AUSTINTOWN, OH- Frank Senediak was the star of the show, driving in four runs on two hits to power Austintown-Fitch past Howland with a commanding 13-1 win on Monday. Senediak sparked the offense with a key double in the third inning that brought home a run, followed by a run-scoring single in the fourth.

Austintown-Fitch’s bats caught fire in the third inning, plating a whopping 10 runs. Alongside Senediak’s contributions, Mason Petridis doubled to drive in two, Jackson Cheeks singled in another pair, and John Darnley added a double for another run. Nik Kyprianou walked with the bases juiced to bring in a run, an error allowed two more runs, and Carter Owens capped off the inning with an RBI single.

Howland managed to get on the scoreboard in the same inning, thanks to Brendan Ray grounding into a double play, but still pushing across a run.

On the mound, Darnley was solid for Austintown-Fitch, allowing just one unearned run on three hits over five innings, striking out four. Brayden Kovarik suffered the loss for Howland, giving up seven runs on six hits in just over two innings of work.

At the plate, Austintown-Fitch racked up 12 hits. Owens, Darnley, Cheeks, and Senediak each had a pair of hits, showing off a potent lineup that Howland struggled to contain. Defensively, Austintown-Fitch stayed sharp, turning a double play to help stifle any potential rallies from Howland.

Howland’s Aiden Anders, Luca Fronzaglio, and Richie Ansel each managed to pick up a hit in a tough outing for their team.

The two teams are set to face off again on Tuesday, with Howland looking to bounce back on their home turf against a red-hot Austintown-Fitch squad.
