G-MEN LEAVE IT ALL ON THE FIELD

GARRETTSVILLE, OH- The Garfield G-Men put on a show Monday, cruising past the Brookfield Warriors with a commanding 12-0 victory, highlighted by a massive seven-run rally in the sixth inning.

Garfield was quick off the blocks, as Aidan Hill worked a walk to bring in the first run in the opening frame. They stretched their lead in the third when a passed ball and a groundout by Carson Norton each brought a runner home, making it 3-0.

The sixth inning was where the G-Men really broke the game open. Leo Grandizio kicked things off by scoring on a tag-up play. Brock Pesicek then ripped a single to drive in another run, followed by another run scoring from a passed ball. Norton came through again with a two-run single, and an error allowed two more runs to cross the plate, ballooning the lead to 12-0.

On the mound, Hill was dominant for Garfield, tossing five shutout innings, allowing just one hit, and striking out 11. For Brookfield, Brandon Hardman started and was charged with five runs (two earned) over three and two-thirds innings, struggling with control as he issued four walks.

At the plate, Alex Carter and Pesicek each notched two hits for Garfield. Pesicek also led the defensive effort, involved in 12 plays, helping the G-Men play error-free baseball. The team also showcased their speed, swiping four bases over the course of the game.

Brookfield will have a chance for redemption as they face Garfield again on Tuesday.
