HEARTLAND OFFENSE SHOWS UP IN A BIG WAY

NEW WATERFORD, OH- Heartland Christian defeated Sebring McKinley 20-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jake Walker induced a fly out from Ethan Lonave to finish off the game.

Heartland Christian secured the victory thanks to 20 runs in the first inning. The offensive firepower by Heartland was led by Drew Walker, Luke Rafferty , Jake Kling, Will Morgan, Joel Morgan , and Drew Gault, all driving in runs in the inning.

Heartland Christian fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Heartland.

One bright spot for Sebring was a single by Kayden Barker in the fourth inning.

Walker earned the win for Heartland Christian. Walker surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out four and walking one.

Kayden Whitlatch was on the pitcher’s mound for Sebring. Whitlatch allowed six hits and 12 runs over one-third of an inning, walking one. Ketchum threw two and two-thirds innings in relief.

Seth Walker started the game for Heartland. The righty went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out three and walking zero

Heartland Christian saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game. Gault, Morgan , and Walker all collected multiple hits for Heartland Christian School Varsity. Gault led Heartland Christian with three hits in three at bats.  The Lions were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Kling made the most plays with seven.

Barker went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Sebring in hits.
