HUBBARD BOUNCES BACK TO BLANK RAMS

HUBBARD, OHIO- The Mineral Ridge Rams fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-0 loss to the Hubbard Eagles on Friday.

The Eagles got things started early as they scored on a single by Gabe Rusnak in the first inning, a single by Jonny Adamson in the first inning, a error in the second inning, and a single by Ben Wilcox in the second inning.

The Rams struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Hubbard Eagles, giving up nine runs. The Eagles had 13 hits in the game as Johnny Reyes, Adamson, Andrew Kali, and Ryan Murray all managed multiple hits at the plate.

Rusnak earned the win for on the mound for the Eagles as he allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out 12 and walking one.  Tyler Wright threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jackson Geddes and Trenton Thomas each collected one hit to lead the Rams at the plate as Jack Gillie was on the mound as he lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 hits and seven runs while striking out one and walking zero.  Trey Rigley threw two and a third innings in relief.

The Rams will get ready for tournament play as they will take on Newton Falls in round one of the Division III statewide tournament. The Eagles will also prepare for their tournament run in the Division II statewide tournament.
