IRISH COMPLETE THRILLING COMEBACK

STRUTHERS OH- Ursuline took the lead late and defeated Cardinal Mooney 8-7 on Wednesday. The game was tied at seven with Ursuline batting in the top of the seventh when Tom Groner doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Cardinal Mooney scored four runs in the first inning, but Ursuline still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Mooney came thanks to an error on a ball put in play by Jay Campbell and a double by Jack Desmond.

The Cardinals got things moving in the first inning. They scored two runs when Desmond doubled.

Danny Smith took the win for the Irish. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out three.

Campbell took the loss for Mooney. The bulldog lasted one and one-third innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out one and walking zero.

Andrew Kirila started the game for Ursuline. The pitcher allowed three hits and six runs over four and a third innings, striking out eight.

Cole Litman started the game for Mooney. Litman lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out seven.

Brady Shannon went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ursuline in hits.

Zach Hyrb led the Cardinals with two hits in four at bats.
