IRISH LEAN ON OFFENSE TO RUSH RAIDERS

STRUTHERS, OH- Anthony Triveri was on fire, knocking three hits to lead Ursuline Irish past South Range Raiders with a solid 12-4 victory on Monday at Bob Cene Park.

Triveri started strong with a double in the first inning, followed by singles in the third and fourth innings, contributing significantly to the team’s momentum. South Range struck first in the opening frame with Tyson Tarajack singling and Brennen Klasovsky grounding out to bring in runs, but Ursuline quickly responded.

Ursuline took control in the bottom of the first. Triveri’s double was crucial, and alongside a walk by Thomas Pesa and a passed ball, they each plated a run. The Irish then extended their lead in the third with runs batted in by Pesa, Triveri on a tag-up, a single by Thomas Kosovan, and a walk by Rowan Urbach.

Johnny Cambert was solid on the mound for Ursuline, picking up the win after allowing four runs on eight hits across five innings, striking out seven. Julian Tranovich, however, struggled for South Range, giving up ten runs (eight earned) over just under four innings.

Urbach also made an impact in relief for Ursuline, throwing two shutout innings, allowing just two hits, and striking out three.

Ursuline was unstoppable at the plate, amassing 16 hits. Notably, Kosovan, batting ninth, drove in three runs and matched Triveri and Pesa with three hits each. CJ Frasco also added two hits.

South Range also had a decent hitting day with 10 hits. Klasovsky was instrumental, driving in three runs, while Tarajack led with three hits. Tyler Wardle also contributed with two hits. Despite the loss, South Range was flawless in the field, with Konnor Brogan leading with six plays.

Ursuline looks forward to continuing their momentum when they host Cardinal Mooney on Wednesday, and South Range will look to rebound at home against Boardman.
