JAYS CLAIM MVAC TITLE

NORTH JACKSON OH- Jackson Milton defeated Mineral Ridge 7-2 thanks to a strong start. They scored on a groundout by Billy Sloan in the first inning and a single by Caden Ruby in the second inning. The win hands the Blue Jays the 2023 MVAC Scarlet Tier Championship.

The Blue Jays pulled away for good with one run in the second inning. In the second Ruby singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Jackson Milton tallied three runs in the third inning. Aaren Romigh, Aiden Pugh, and Jaidyn Henry each had RBIs in the big inning.

Romigh took the win for the Jays. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing two runs on eight hits, striking out seven and walking one.

Justin Barker took the loss for Mineral Ridge. The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out six.

Pugh led Jackson Milton with two hits in two at bats. Gino Novello went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Rams in hits.
