JEFFERSON SOARS ABOVE WILDCATS

Kirkland Lambert was an RBI machine on Tuesday, driving in four on three hits to lead Jefferson past Struthers 18-8 on Tuesday. Lambert drove in runs on a sacrifice fly in the first, a single in the second, and a single in the sixth.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Jefferson collected 13 hits and Struthers had nine.

The Falcons got things moving in the first inning. Braydon Throop drove in one when Throop doubled.

Jefferson tallied eight runs in the second inning. Their offense in the inning came from walks by PJ Modzelewski, Kory Newhart, and Jack Detweiler and singles by Dylan Cotton, Seve Cantini, and Lambert.

Struthers scored three runs in the fifth inning. Their big inning was driven by an error on a ball put in play by Drew Day and a double by Chance Zarcko.

Cantini led the the Falcons to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The bulldog allowed zero hits and one run over two innings, striking out seven and walking one. Patrick Beebe, Marc Wood, and Lambert all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Eric Davis took the loss for Struthers. The pitcher lasted two innings, allowing four hits and ten runs while striking out two.

Jefferson racked up 13 hits on the day. Lambert, Throop, Mason Jacobs, and Detweiler all managed multiple hits. Throop and Lambert all had three hits to lead.

The Wildcats totaled nine hits. Olindo Pezzon and Alec Gryzb each managed multiple hits.
