LAKEVIEW CLAPS BACK TO SECURE PROGRAM’S FIRST NE8 TITLE

CANFIELD OH- In a thrilling showdown under the Tuesday night lights, Lakeview Bulldogs took on South Range Raiders with the NE8 championship up for grabs. It was a battle of the titans, and Lakeview came out swinging, determined to secure their place in history. They wasted no time, launching a four-run second inning that set the tone for the rest of the game. From there, it was all about maintaining their momentum and holding off any comeback attempts from the Raiders.

For Lakeview, this game was about more than just a win—it was about making history. And that’s exactly what they did. With their 11-6 victory on the road, the Bulldogs clinched their first-ever NE8 championship, a momentous achievement for the program.   Adding to the significance, it was also just the second time they managed to snag a win at South Range, making the victory even sweeter. As the final out was recorded, the Bulldogs erupted in celebration, knowing they had secured their place at the top of the conference standings. They will share the trophy with South Range, both teams finishing with just 1 loss in the league.

Leading the charge for Lakeview’s offense was Hallie Capan, who delivered a standout performance with a crucial home run and four RBIs. She set the tone early and provided the spark that ignited the Bulldogs’ offensive onslaught. Mack Stowe, Kennedy Bartlett, Isabella Isenberg, Kalyssa Werner, and Izzy Haines also made significant contributions at the plate, each recording hits and runs scored to keep the scoreboard ticking.

In the circle, Ava Bacon was tasked with shutting down the Raiders’ offense, and she delivered when it mattered most. Despite giving up some hits and runs, Bacon showed poise and determination, striking out batters and keeping South Range’s hitters off balance.

While the loss may sting for South Range, they showed resilience and fought until the final out. Players like Keira Brogan, Solena DeJesus, Jayli Wilt, and Gretchen Bartels led the offensive charge, refusing to go down without a fight. Their efforts kept the game competitive until the very end.
