LATE HEROICS KEEP IRISH UNBEATEN

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Ursuline took the lead late in the game in a 2-1 victory over Louisville on Wednesday. The game was tied at one with Ursuline batting in the bottom of the sixth when Ayva Fedor singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Paige Ogden struck out ten, while Katie Heath sat down two.

The Irish got on the board in the first inning when Ogden’s sac fly scored one run.

In the top of the fourth inning, Louisville tied things up at one when Jenna Collins singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Ogden led the Irish to victory on the rubber. Ogden lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out ten and walking one.

Heath took the loss for Louisville. Heath allowed seven hits and two runs over six innings, striking out two.

Mia Opalick went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Ursuline in hits.
