Cardinal Mooney ran off with the lead late in the game in a 6-5 victory over John F. Kennedy Catholic on Thursday. The game was tied at five with Cardinal Mooney batting in the bottom of the sixth when Logan Boyd singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

The Cardinals earned the victory despite allowing John F. Kennedy Catholic to score five runs in the sixth inning. Their big inning was driven by a walk by Aidan Rossi, a fielder’s choice by Jaden Rishel, and a double by Jake Hettrick.

Jeff Brenner earned the win for Cardinal Mooney. The fireballer allowed one hit and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Rishel was on the mound for the Eagles. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out nine. Michael Condoleon threw one inning in relief.
