NEWBURN PERFECT ON SENIOR NIGHT

HANOVERTON OH-  Trent Newburn was brilliant on the pitcher’s mound on Monday, as Newburn threw a perfect game to lead United past East Palestine 13-0.

United secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the second inning. The Eagles big bats were led by Newburn and Tyler Dickens, who all drove in runs.

The Eagles got on the board in the first inning. Newburn drove in two when he tripled.

United tallied seven runs in the second inning. Newburn and Dickens all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Newburn was the winning pitcher for United. The pitcher went five innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out 15 and walking zero. He broke the school’s strike out record, alongside a perfect game.

Blake Noel took the loss for East Palestine. The hurler allowed four hits and seven runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one.

United scattered ten hits in the game. Newburn and Nevin Hahlen all managed multiple hits for United. Newburn went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits. United didn’t commit a single error in the field. Parker Newburn had the most chances in the field with 12.
