MCDONALD NOT MESSING AROUND

MINERAL RIDGE OH- McDonald came out swinging on Monday night, delivering a resounding 21-0 victory over a quality Mineral Ridge team.

The McDonald offense was firing on all cylinders, with standout performances from Kayla Helco, Lauren O’Leary, Isabella O’Brien, Bri McCombs, Gianna Mancini, and Marissa Colarich. Helco went 2-4 with 4 RBI, while O’Leary contributed 3 RBI, 1 walk, and scored 4 runs. O’Brien showed her power with a home run, 3 RBI, and 4 runs scored, while McCombs and Mancini each collected 3 hits and multiple RBI. Colarich added to the onslaught with 3 hits, 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored.

On the mound, O’Brien was untouchable, pitching a flawless game. In her 5 innings of work, she didn’t allow a single hit, recorded 11 strikeouts, and only issued 1 walk, securing a no-hitter for McDonald.
