QUESO EN FUEGO

CANFIELD, OH- Once every generation there’s a talent that explodes onto the scene and leaves his or her mark on a game that some of us may never be able to look at the same way ever again.  This generation belongs to a 6’4, 215-pound monster on the mound, who can strike fear in the heart of any hitter he faces, as well as change the game in the box with the swing of his bat.

Canfield’s Landon Beidelschies (pronounced BY-DUL-CHEESE) is not only one of the area’s top talents on the baseball diamond this year, he’s been showered with accolades and comparisons to some of the world’s best hurlers in the Major Leagues.  Big Cheese has a fastball that reaches the mid-90s, and a changeup that will corkscrew hitters into the dirt.  Tack on his tape-measure home runs he’s launched this season, and he gives Ohio State some options moving forward next fall.

While the future sounds fun to think about, Landon and the Cardinals are focused on one goal right now– an OHSAA State Championship.

We had the opportunity to sit down with the Super Southpaw for the Cardinals and discuss past, present, future, and family on this week’s Canfield Player Profile- Queso En Fuego.
