RAIDER BLOCK PARTY OVERWHELMS BLUE JAYS

South Range  welcomed in a strong Jackson Milton team into their gym Monday night. The Raiders flexed their muscles with a sweep of the Blue Jays (25-21 25-16 26-24).

Out of the gates the Raiders looked strong. They were passing really well and getting plenty of attacks over the net. The trouble was, the Blue Jay defense was playing solid defense. The Raiders struggled to get kills in the first set. They instead used tough serving to gain a comfortable advantage and hold off Jackson Milton in a tight first set 25-21.

In set two, the Raiders attacks started hitting the floor. They went the whole set without an attack error and finished with a hitting percentage of .281. They rolled in set two 25-16.

Attack errors caught up with Raiders in set number 3 as they opened with 5 consecutive attack errors. This allowed the Blue Jays to storm ahead to a big early lead. However, after a timeout the Raiders attack got back on track and they rallied to take a close third set, and the sweep. 26-24.

Izzy Lamparty recorded a double double tonight and was superb on the block. She finished with 11 kills and 11 blocks. Anna Primavera had 8 kills, 7 aces, and 5 digs. Emily Irons had 25 assists, and 4 kills. Reagan Irons had 13 digs.

The Raiders return to action Tuesday night as they travel to Niles.
