RED DRAGONS REIGN ON LAKEVIEW’S SENIOR NIGHT

CORTLAND, OH – As Lakeview concludes their senior night celebrating football players and cheerleaders alike, the Red Dragons (5-3) looked to spoil the night for the 1-7 Bulldogs. As well for the Red Dragons, they look to snap their two-game slide. After a 6:30 first drive, Niles’ KYLE LUNDGREN puts an end to the extensive drive with an interception. Bulldogs second drive started with a 40-yard pass from STEPHEN PAVIANSKY to GAVIN MAUGEIZ on the next play PAVLANSKY connects on a 19-yard touchdown following on the kickoff after the pass, Lakeview fakes an onside and Niles coughs it up.

Later in the 2nd, a 32 yd pick-six by defensive lineman AARON CLINE (7-7). After a Lakeview punt, Niles offense a down. A 3 rd and 9 with 9 seconds left. Junior QB ZACK LEONARD finds ROMERO BASKINS for a 27-yard touchdown (14-7) at the half. In the 3rd quarter, a handful of Red Dragons get involved with the drive that is capped with a 1-yard touchdown run by LEONARD (21-7). The next drive is put to a halt thanks to junior defensive back Doug Foster, and later in the drive turns into a 17-yard touchdown pass from LEONARD to BASKINS (28-7).

Later in the game, Niles is able to punch in the endzone one more time thanks to a 3-yard touchdown from JOE GALLO. (35 TO 7). What turned out to be the second to last drive for the Bulldogs, JAYDEN DAVIS is able to pick off PALANSKY, which resulted in a punt for Niles and a final drive by the Bulldogs which resulted in nothing as the clock reached triple zeros. Niles (6-3) comes out top 35 to 7, as they return back home for their week 10 matchup with the Girard Indians.
