ROUND 2 GOES TO BIG BLUE; POLAND MOVES ON

POLAND, OH – Poland and Struthers had the rare opportunity to play each other in back to back weeks thanks to both teams making the playoffs. Week 11 would yield the same results as week 10 with Poland beating their rival through the run game. The Bulldog defense was able to hold the Wildcat scoreless for the first time this season. Quarterback Jack Fulton had 3 total touchdowns (1 rush, 2 passes) in the winning effort.

After 7 consecutive run plays by the Bulldogs, Fulton passed to Tight End Jake Kountz from 12 yards to the endzone to take the early 7-0 lead in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Bulldogs would increase their lead after Fulton rushed into the endzone from 1 yard out to make the game, 14-0 in favor of the Bulldogs. After an interception from Defensive Back Andrew Centofanti, Fulton completed a 22-yard touchdown pass to Centofanti in the final minute of halftime giving the Bulldogs a commanding 21-0 lead.

Kicker Mikey Kushner would continue the Bulldogs’ success with a 34 field goal in the third quarter. Kushner would also help out on the offensive end with a 9-yard touchdown run to make the final score 31-0 in favor of the Bulldogs. Poland will play Indian Creek at a neutral location in week 12 of the high school football season.
