CANFIELD OH- TJ Irons is back at the helm at South Range. After twelve years away from the program, TJ has returned to the volleyball court. He inherits a program that went to the district championship last season, and has won 3 district titles since 2013, and has gotten to two more title games. It is a young squad for coach Irons and the Raiders. Just one senior is one the squad, and there are many times where there are four freshman on the court at once. As the season has gone on, he young players have stepped in to their roles and gelled into the varsity system. They have put it all together with a three win week with victories over Mooney, Hubbard, and Girard all in sweeping fashion.
Coach Irons knows how tough his schedule is, there are only 4 games on the Raiders schedule that are either in their division, or in a division below them. He feels comfortable and battle tested heading into the tournaments. There is no better times to put things together is the end of the season, and the Raiders appear to be doing just that.
TJ took the time out of his busy schedule to call in to Running Point to talk to YSN’s Anthony Hartwig. They discussed taking over the program again, how the game has changed since he last coached, and much more. Raider fans time to set sail with Episode 1 of Coach’s Corner with TJ Irons
