Haleigh McCalla shut down Lowellville, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Springfield to a 11-0 victory on Wednesday

Springfield secured the victory thanks to six runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by singles by Harley Shoemaker and Rachel Malatok and doubles by Abby Joseph and McCalla.

In the first inning, Springfield got their offense started. They scored one run when Joseph tripled.

Springfield scored six runs in the sixth inning. Shoemaker, Malatok, Joseph, and McCalla all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

A single by Kennedy Kelly in the sixth inning was a positive for Lowellville.

McCalla was the winning pitcher for the Tigers. McCalla went six innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out 13.

Sammie Kelly took the loss for Lowellville. The bulldog lasted five and a third innings, allowing 12 hits and 11 runs while striking out one.

Springfield tallied one home run on the day. Madi Lesnak went yard in the second inning.

The Tigers totaled 12 hits. Malatok, Lesnak, McCalla, and Joseph each had multiple hits. Joseph, McCalla, Lesnak, and Malatok each managed two hits to lead.

Kelly went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Lowellville in hits. Lowellville stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Sidney Price led the way with two.
