CARDINAL MOONEY VOLLEYBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH CLAIRE FERRANDO

YOUNGSTOWN OH- A simple look at Cardinal Mooney’s volleyball schedule might tell you that they are having a down year. And sure, no one wants to be sitting at 1-7. But, if you look deeper into this team, you will see they will still be a for e to be reckoned with towards the end of the year.

At the moment, Mooney is dealing with the injury bug. They are down three varsity starters, and being forced to plug young players in to new roles. That being said, they are still putting a quality product on the floor. If you combine that with the fact that Mooney’s schedule is a who’s who of volleyball powerhouses from all divisions, it’s easy to see why their record may not be ideal at the moment.

Head coach Claire Ferrando was kind enough to hop on to YSN’s Running Point this week to give us an update on the program. She talks with Anthony Hartwig, and Ty Bartell about the young players stepping up, how important leadership has been, and much more. Don’t miss a moment of Episode 1 of Coach’s Corner with Claire Ferrando.
