URSULINE FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH LARRY KEMPE (EP 5)

Weather wreaked havoc all across the Valley last Friday, but none more than the Irish and Raiders facing off in Warren.  The game was postponed Friday night, forcing the Irish to come back on Saturday at 1pm to battle one of the area’s top teams.

Coack K was able to keep the team focused during the game, but the Irish came up short again against their cross-town rivals.

What does the Coach take away from a situation out of the control?  What can be learned from last week, and pushed toward Louisville this week?

CLIPPER CAPTAIN LOOKS TO MAKE IMPACT FOR COLUMBIANA

Columbiana Senior Brandt Virden has been described as “The 125 Pound Brick Wall” and to some, it warrants a smile, but if you ask Virden- it’s a warning for his opposition.

The 5’4 Safety is coming off a shortened junior campaign with purpose, and style.  His teammates voted him a Co-Captain of this 2018 Clipper squad, and with that title comes major responsibility.

2018 has all the makings of a special year in Columbiana, and our Mark Franken caught up with Brandt for this week’s Cornerstone Trucks Columbiana Player Profile!

LOWERY AND BEHOLD

A transfer student in 8th grade, Jordan Lowery has come a long way in his development.  First from the standpoint of patience for his turn, and secondly to be able to capture the moment when the spotlight is on him.

Make no mistake about it- Jordan didn’t miss his moment.

In fact, Jordan has created several moments this season from a leadership perspective that he may not be able to yet understand the ripple he’s created for his underclass teammates.  Lowery is the keynote example of a young man who does what is asked-and beyond.  Going the extra mile because it’s not a crowded road is the belief of South Range’s #58.

We had the chance to sit down with him this week and discuss all things from football to the future.  This week’s South Range Player Profile is: LOWERY AND BEHOLD

All of these credentials lead to one young man in the East Liverpool lockerroom- Aidan Watkins.

The Potter senior has stepped in nicely to a role that was custom fitted to not only his abilities on the field but his attitude outside the lines.  With all the rich tradition that is East Liverpool football, the leadership role is not one taken lightly in Potterville, but one that is earned by the blood, sweat, and tear equity that has come for over a century in East Liverpool.

2018 just feels like a different year for the Potters.  Our Tommy Pease sits down with East Liverpool Senior Aidan Watkins in this week’s East Liverpool Player Profile- WATKINS PROVIDES THE SPARK

The Bulldogs put together a big week despite the weather.  The Dogs caged the Wellsville Tigers in big fashion to get their first conference win in 2018.

Coach Foster and the Dog Pound are ready to be road warriors again, this time they’re headed south to the Wigwam of Southern Local!

Can the Bulldogs build a winning streak on the shoulders of the undefeated Indians?  What’s the main focus on each side of the ball for the brown and white?  What’s Coach’s favorite vacation spot?

SALEM FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH RON JOHNSON (EP 5)

After a tough weather week in the Valley, The Quakers were forced to call an audible and play on Saturday.  Coach Johnson isn’t one to make excuses and toughed things out with his troops short-handed in week five.  The Quakers came up short, but not for lack of effort.

However, another week presents itself, and the Quakers look to get back to full strength and home cooking doesn’t hurt as the Quakes look to grab the oars in Reilly Stadium to take on Marlington.

Our Jarrod Niederhiser connects with RonJohn for Episode 5 of Salem Football Coach’s Corner!
