Thomas is committed to play football at Purdue University. Thomas is one of the biggest recruits in the Mahoning Valley, with many offers to big division 1 schools. Thomas has been a key leader for the Spartans this season, and looks to guide them into the playoffs. BOARDMAN, OH – Head coach, Seth Antram and the Boardman Spartans are back to their winning ways after flexing some offensive muscle last week. The Spartans welcomed the Howland Tigers to Spartan Stadium in week four and sent them back to Howland defeated as the Spartans won 33-21. Up next for Boardman will be a home game against the 1-3 East High Golden Bears at Spartan Stadium on Friday night.

YSN’s own, Steve Leslie, was able to sit down with Coach Antram at Cocca’s Pizza in Canfield this week to discuss the week four victory over Howland, what some takeaways are that he and his staff have noticed to prepare the Spartans for East, and what his keys to the game are for week five as a win will put Boardman at 4-1 on the season.

CANFIELD, OH – Head coach Mike Pavlansky and the Canfield Cardinals are soaring into week five after one of the most impressive displays of team football we have seen in week four. The Cards took a trip down to New Philadelphia and dominated on both sides of the ball all night as they came away with a 35-0 shutout victory. Up next for Canfield will be a home  contest as they will welcome the Chaney Cowboys to town on Friday night.

CANFIELD, OH – The thorn in the side of South Range athletics has been Canton Central Catholic but in week three head coach Dan Yeagley and the South Range Raiders were unfazed and took it to the Crusaders all night. The Raiders came out swinging and never looked back as they came away with an impressive 42-20 victory. Up next for South Range will be the NE8 conference opener as the Raiders will travel down to Struthers to take on the Wildcats on Friday night.

YSN’s own, D.J. Yokley, had the opportunity to talk with Coach Yeagley this week to discuss the big victory over Canton Central Catholic, what Coach and his staff has in store for us as NE8 play begins, what some of the key things are that the Raiders need to do to pick up a win in week four, and so much more!

COLUMBIANA, OH – Coming off a very hard fought road test against United, head coach Paul Cusick and the Crestview Rebels are looking to “right the ship” as MVAC play begins this week. The Rebels battled up until the final whistle but came up a little short 28-21. Up next for Crestview will be a home contest with MVAC foe, the Campbell Memorial Red Devils, on Friday night.

YSN’s own, DJ Yokley, was able to sit down with Coach Cusick this week to discuss the week three match up with United, what he and his staff took away from that game, and what the Rebs need to do on Friday night to come away with a victory and start 1-0 in the MVAC.
