CRESTVIEW ABSORBS QUAKERS BEST PUNCH

SALEM OH- It was volley for the cure night in Salem, as the Quakers and Rebels fought for much more than a volleyball victory. The battle on the court was fierce as the Rebels escaped with a thrilling 5 set victory (25-23 21-25 25-21 19-25 15-8).

Lucy Montgomery collected another triple double to add to her collection as she finished with 24 kills, 18 assists, and 13 digs. Grace Auer would not be outdone, as she recorded a triple double as well with 25 digs, 21 assists, and 13 kills. Shelby Rambo finished with 10 kills, and 5 blocks.

For Salem, Kaley Davis led the way with 12 kills. Rylie Troy collected 5 kills, and 4 aces. Morgan McGaffick set up 12 assists, while Emma Hochadel did her fair share of setting finishing with 9 assists.

Crestview is now undefeated as they head into another big non conference matchup Wednesday hosting undefeated Lakeview. Salem will hit the road on Tuesday to play Marlington.

CRESTVIEW TAMES THE LEOPARDS

COLUMBIANA OH- Crestview’s impressive eight game winning streak kept on rolling on Thursday night with a quick sweep of Liberty. The win brings Crestview’s record to 13-2 (9-0). (25-15 25-10 25-21).

Lucy Montgomery led a balanced offense with a triple double finishing with 13 kills, 14 digs, and 13 assists. Grace Auer narrowly missed a triple double of her own finishing with 22 assists, 10 digs, and 9 kills. She also served 5 aces. Lainey Mercure led the Rebels with 17 digs. Shelby Rambo and Alycia Flowers both had strong night’s with 8 kills a piece.

Crestview will now take their mind game win streak into Campbell on Saturday. Liberty drops to 7-5 and will host a LaBrae on Tuesday.

REBELS BREAK DOWN BROOKFIELD

BROOKFIELD OH- Crestview continues to roll through their MVAC schedule. The Rebels have yet to be beaten within the conference. Their latest victim was Brookfield. Crestview rolled in a sweep of the Warriors (25-12 25-9 25-14).

Grace Auer was all over the stat sheet for the Rebels. She finished with 17 digs, 10 kills, 8 assists, and 5 aces. Lucy Montgomery collected another double double with a team high 11 kills, and 12 assists. She also had 3 aces and 4 digs. Kendra Greaves was in double digit digs with 10.

Crestview will stay in conference on Thursday as they host Liberty. Brookfield falls to 5-7 and will travel to LaBrae on Thursday.

CRESTVIEW CONQUERS VIKINGS

COLUMBIANA OH- Crestview remained undefeated in the MVAC Gray tier on Thursday night with a straight set sweep of LaBrae (28-26 25-18 25-21).

Lucy Montgomery, and Grace Auer both earned triple doubles on the night. Montgomery totaled 13 assists, 13 digs, and 11 kills. Auer totaled 14 assists, 11 digs, and 10 kills. Molly Emch added 7 kills on the night.

Crestview will try to continue their winning ways on Tuesday as they travel to Brookfield.

REBELS BATTLE BACK AGAINST RESERVE

COLUMBIANA OH- It was an exciting Saturday matinee in Crestview as the Rebels took a five set thriller against Western Reserve (25-19 11-25 25-16 23-25 15-10).

The Rebels opened set one in a quick hole, down 4-0 before they could blink. That four point lead last until the 11-7 mark, then the Rebels turned it on. Lucy Montgomery got her foul kills in the set in a quick burst and just like that it was tied. The Rebels controller the set from that point. Outscoring the Devils 14-8 the rest of the way. They’d take set 1 25-19.

The Blue Devils didn’t crumble under the didsapointment though. In fact, they did the opposite and dominated set two. Mostly off the incredible serving of Alyvia Hughes, the Devils rolled to a 25-11 set two win.

The Rebels returned the favor and dominated set three. The match was the truest representation of back and forth. 25-16 was the score of set three.

Set four was the most competitive. The Devi’s took an early lead, and held it to 13-8. Then the Rebels responded with a 6-0 run and took a 14-13 lead. The set went completely back and forth after that. Reserve got the clutch points down the stretch and took a 25-23 victory to force a decisive set 5.

Crestview beat the odds to win set five, you don’t often see a team drop set four and respond to win set five. It’s hard to stifle the other team’s momentum and stop them from starting the shorter set fast. The Rebels were able to do that though as they answered each Reserve point to start. Tied up at 3, Crestview took a 7-0 run to grab control. It was 14-7 before Reserve avoided three match points in a row before falling 15-10.

Montgomery  collected a triple double for Crestview with 19 kills, 22 assists, and 19 digs. Grace Auer also had a triple double with 19 kills, 20 assists, and 14 digs. Molly Emch finished with 8 kills, and 4 blocks. Kendra Greaves finished with 16 digs.

Dani Vuletich had a match-high 20 kills for Reserve, and also 6 blocks. Lisa Eichert finished with 12 kills. Hannah Diaz put in a good day of work as well with 13 kills.

Crestview will try to keep their 9-2 record rolling as they travel to Champion. Western Reserve drops to 7-3 and will travel to Mooney on Monday.

CRESTVIEW TURNS UP THE HEAT ON THE DEVILS

COLUMBIANA OH- The Rebels didn’t miss a beat extending their three match winning streak to four on Tuesday with a sweep of Campbell (25-7 25-3 25-12).

Grace Auer led the Rebels with a double double with 11 kills, and 10 assists. Lucy Montgomery had 6 kills, and 10 assists. Shelby Rambo finished with 4 kills, 2 aces, 2 blocks, and a dig.

The Rebels will try to keep winning as they host Newton Falls on Thursday. Campbell will look for their first win on Thursday as they travel to Champion.

REBELS RAILROAD SOUTHEAST

COLUMBIANA OH- Crestview Volleyball is starting to gain some traction and gel together as the season goes along. They got their sixth win of the season Saturday with a sweep of Southeast (25-13 25-9 25-14).

Grace Auer ruled the day on the attack with 13 assists, 12 kills and a block. Shelby Rambo had a nice day as well finishing with 9 kills and 6 blocks. Kenzie Greaves was solid on defense with 16 digs. Lucy Montgomery also collected a double-double with 15 assists, and 11 kills.

Crestview will host Cambpell on Tuesday trying to keep things going.

POTTERS CRASH REBELS HOME OPENER

COLUMBIANA OH- East Liverpool Volleyball showed no fear against the back to back district champion Crestview Rebels on Wednesday night as they stormed to a 3-0 sweep (25-23 25-19 25-19).

The first set was a thriller. After the Potters jumped out to a 9-4 lead, the Rebels came back and tied it at 9. From that point on the Potters lead didn’t go over two until they led 23-20. Even then, the Rebels fought back and made it 23-22 before the Potters made the plays needed to win 25-23.

For sets two and three the dominance of East Liverpool captain Sharnae Wilson proved too much for the Rebels to match. Wilson had 19 kills on the night, and just 1 attack error. That’s a hitting percentage of .818. Kyia White added 9 kills for the Potters. Addison Galeoti led in digs with 11.

Lucy Montgomery had a great night for Crestview transitioning from setter last season to an outside hitter this season. She led the team with 13 kills, 6 digs, and an ace. Grace Auer had 13 assists and 4 kills.

Crestview returns to action Saturday morning hosting Minerva at 10:00.

East Liverpool gets back to action on Thursday traveling to Beaver Local.
