LAKEVIEW GRABS WIN ON THE ROAD OVER CHAMPION

WARREN, OH- The Lakeview baseball team took home a 5-2 victory over Champion on Thursday. The Bulldogs fired up the offense in the first inning when Jake Wilms drove in one when he singled.

Brendon Kilpatrick took the win for Lakeview. He allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out two. Liam Boivin threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Lakeview totaled ten hits in the game. KilpatrickMatthew McRoberts, and Wilms each collected multiple hits for Lakeview BB VarsityWilmsMcRoberts, and Kilpatrick all had two hits to lead Lakeview.

POLAND PITCHING KEEPS LAKEVIEW AT BAY

POLAND, OH- On a beautiful Tuesday night, the temperature cooperated for the Poland Bulldogs, as did the pitching.  Behind those strong arms, Poland Seminary defeated Lakeview 7-3 in NE8 action.

Poland Seminary got things started in the second inning when Senior Braden Olson singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.  Poland notched three more runs in the fifth inning. Zachary Yaskulka had an RBI double in the inning to start the scoring.

On the bump, Alex Barth earned the victory for Poland. He went five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out four. Robbie Seitz threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Nick Demonica took the loss for Lakeview. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out seven.

Poland tallied ten hits in the game. Olson and Barth all managed multiple hits for PolandOlson led the Bulldogs with three hits in three at-bats.

Lakeview racked up ten hits in the game. Clay Lazzari and Matthew McRoberts each racked up multiple hits for Lakeview. Lazzari went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lakeview in hits.

POLAND SOFTBALL CRUISES PAST LAKEVIEW

POLAND, OH- Cami Lattanzio showed timely hitting on Tuesday, driving in four on two hits to lead Poland Seminary past Lakeview 22-2 on Tuesday. Lattanzio drove in runs on a home run, a walk, and a triple.

That was just the third inning.  What an inning it turned out to be.

Poland secured the victory thanks to 20 runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught came from doubles by Jackie GrisdaleTori ModarelliBrooke Bobbey, and Ashley Wire, singles by ModarelliKaili Gross, and Ally Nittoli, triples by Lauren Sienkiewicz and Lattanzio, home runs by Lattanzio and Nittoli, and the walk by Lattanzio.

In the first inning, Lakeview drew first blood when Abbie Campana drew a walk, scoring one run.  Cait Kelm went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lakeview in hits.

Wire was credited with the victory for Poland. She lasted five innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out four.  Cait Kelm took the loss for Lakeview. She went two and a third innings, allowing 15 runs on 14 hits.

Poland Seminary scattered 22 hits in the game. Abby FarberBobbeyNittoliModarelliGrossSienkiewiczLattanzio, and Grisdale all managed multiple hits for PolandNittoliBobbey, and Farber each collected three hits to lead the way.

POLAND BATS SURGE PAST LAKEVIEW

Cami Lattanzio showed timely hitting on Tuesday, driving in four on two hits to lead Poland past Lakeview 22-2 on Tuesday.  Lattanzio drove in runs on a home run in the third, a walk in the third, and a triple in the third.

Poland took the lead for good with 20 runs in the third inning.  In the third Lattanzio hit a solo homer, Grisdale doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Modarelli singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs, Gross singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Lattanzio drew a walk, scoring one run, Nittoli singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Sienkiewicz tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs, an error scored one run for Poland, Modarelli doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Bobbey doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Wire doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Lattanzio tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and Nittoli homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

The Bulldogs tallied two home runs on the day. Nittoli went deep in the third inning. Lattanzio had a dinger in the third inning.

Poland scattered 22 hits in the game.  Abby Farber, Bobbey, Nittoli, Modarelli, Gross, Sienkiewicz, Lattanzio, and Grisdale all managed multiple hits for Poland Seminary Bulldogs Varsity.  Nittoli, Bobbey, and Farber each collected three hits to lead Poland Seminary Bulldogs Varsity.

Kelm went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lakeview in hits.

OLSON, POLAND BLANK LAKEVIEW

CORTLAND, OH- Just over a year ago, Poland Junior Braden Olson laid on an operating table preparing to undergo Tommy John surgery.  16 months later, Olson is back on the field and better than ever, and on Monday- NE8 opponent Lakeview got a first-hand look at the Olson Redemption Tour when the Bulldogs were shut-out 4-0.  He surrendered zero runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.

The bright spot for Lakeview was a double by Nick Demonica in the first inning, it would be the only extra base hit for Lakeview on the day.

Austin Vogt took the loss for Lakeview. He allowed eight hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two.

Offensively, Poland totaled 11 hits. OlsonBraeden O’Shaughnessy, and Mj Farber all had multiple hits for Poland. O’Shaughnessy and Olson each managed three hits to lead the team. Olson led Poland with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.

A GROSS NO-NO FOR POLAND, LADY BULLDOGS SAIL PAST LAKEVIEW

CORTLAND, OH- Things were downright dirty for the Poland Bulldogs on Monday.  In fact, the right context might just be that things were Gross.  Poland’s Kaili Gross was brilliant in the circle on Monday, as she threw a no-hitter to lead Poland Seminary past Lakeview 16-1.  Oh, by the way, she also went yard in the second inning which was all the offense she would need.

Lucky for her, she brought some friends along as well.

Emily Denney collected four hits in four at-bats to help lead the Lady Bulldogs to victory. Denney singled in the second, singled in the fourth, singled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth.  Poland Seminary tallied eight runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Poland was led by Ashley WireCami LattanzioAlly NittoliLauren SienkiewiczAbby Farber, and Kenzie Szolek, all driving in runs in the frame.

Gross was the winning pitcher for the Lady Dogs. She surrendered one run on zero hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

Cait Kelm took the loss for Lakeview. She surrendered nine runs on seven hits over three innings, striking out one.

Poland tallied 12 hits overall. DenneyBrooke Bobbey, and Sienkiewiczeach racked up multiple hits for Seminary.  Denney led Poland Seminary with four hits in four at-bats.

LATE SCORE SCORNS LAKEVIEW

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH- Friday’s game against Chagrin Falls was a heartbreaker for Lakeview, as they lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with Chagrin Falls batting in the bottom of the sixth when Chagrin came through in the clutch on a sac fly go-ahead run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Chagrin Falls pitchers struck out five, while Lakeview sat down three.

Chagrin Falls started off by taking a lead in the second inning, but Lakeview evened things up at two in the top of the third.  The Bulldogs scored one run when Brendon Kilpatrick doubled.

Kilpatrick took the loss for Lakeview.  He surrendered one run on one hit over one inning, striking out one.  Clay Lazzari started the game for the Dogs. He went five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out two.

Offensively, Lakeview scattered six hits in the game. Austin Vogt and Nick Demonica each racked up multiple hits for the Bulldogs. Demonica and Vogt each collected two hits to lead the team.

TITUS LEADS LADY DOGS TO SWEEP OVER DRAGONS

CORTLAND, OH- Beady Titus wasted no opportunities at the plate on Wednesday, driving in four on two hits to lead Lakeview past McKinley 17-3 on Wednesday. Titus drove in runs on a single in the first and a double in the second.

An early lead helped propel Lakeview to victory. The Lady Bulldogs scored on a double by Olivia Kelm, a single by Abbie Campana, a walk by Mariah Tackett, a single by Raegan Schick, a single by Titus, a triple by Cait Kelm, and a double by Kelm in the first inning.  From there it was just a formality.

After McKinley scored one run in the top of the fourth, Lakeview answered with one of their own. McKinley scored when Ragozino singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.  Lakeview then answered again when Madison Stredney drew a walk, scoring a run.  Schick was the winning pitcher for the Lady Dogs. She went five innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out seven. Bonneau took the loss for McKinley. She surrendered 16 runs on 11 hits over two innings.

Lakeview saw the ball well on Wednesday, racking up 13 hits in the game. KelmKelmMadison HarveyTitus, and Schick all managed multiple hits for Lakeview.  Kelm went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.

Ragozino led McKinley with two hits in two at bats.

SCHICK AND TACKETT HOMER AS LADY BULLDOGS FLEX MUSCLES IN NE8

NILES, OH- The Lakeview Bulldogs asserted their will over Niles McKinley on their way to an easy 17-1 victory on Tuesday.  In the first inning, Lakeview got their offense started when Raegan Schick homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Lakeview scored five runs in the fifth inning. The offense in the inning came from walks by Madison Harvey and Mariah Tackett, a single by Schick, a fielder’s choice by Beady Titus, and an error on a ball put in play by Cait KelmKelm was the winning pitcher for the Lady Dogs. She lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out nine and walking zero.

Snyder took the loss for McKinley. She surrendered 17 runs on 14 hits over five innings, striking out one.  Lakeview socked two home runs on the day. Tackett went yard in the second inning, as Schick went deep in the first.

Lakeview scattered 12 hits in the game. TackettKelm, and Schick each had multiple hits for LakeviewTackett led the Bulldogs with three hits in as many at-bats.

LADY RAIDERS ROLL WITH STRECANSKY

CORTLAND, OH- Jillian Strecansky collected four hits in five at-bats, as South Range defeated Lakeview 13-8 on Tuesday. Strecansky doubled in the first, homered in the third, doubled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth.  Bats blistered as South Range Raiders collected 21 hits and Lakeview tallied 12 in the high-scoring game.

The hit parade got started in the first inning. Jillian Strecansky drove in two when she doubled. The Raiders tallied three runs in the fourth inning. Jillian StrecanskyJulie Centofanti, and Maddie Helon all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.  Lakeview scored three runs in the seventh inning. Lakeview scored its runs on a double by Mariah Tackett.

Bree Kohler got the win for South Range Raiders. She surrendered five runs on 11 hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out 12. Regan Irons threw one-third of an inning in relief.  Cait Kelm took the loss for Lakeview. She allowed 15 hits and 11 runs over three and a third innings, striking out two and walking one.

The Lady Raiders tallied 21 hits. Jillian StrecanskyDrew FerenMarlaina SlabachMaddie HelonBrooke SauerweinHanna Dennison, and Kali Dudich all collected multiple hits for South Range.  Lakeview had 12 hits in the game. Beady Titus and Abbie Campana each collected multiple hits for Lakeview. Beady Titus went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Lakeview in hits.
